You’ll get a chance to help LightBox Interactive tweak the multiplayer, however, as a private beta test starts next week (start checking your emails!), and will continue expanding over the next few months, the PlayStation Blog has revealed.

The beta will initially only feature Capture The Flag maps, but more stages and modes will be added as it goes on.

If you’re one of the players who picked up Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception and found a Starhawk beta voucher within, you’ll have access early next year.

Not my type of game but curious to try it out since I bought Uncharted 3.

I'm so excited for StarHawk. The additions they seem to have made look awesome. And if it still keeps that same feel as Warhawk then I'm sold. Loved that game.

Bah, even though I pumped a lot of hours into Warhawk back in the day, I doubt I'll get into this private beta.

I was looking forward for this game, looks like it can be a breath of fresh air among a sea of Modern Military shooters.. Sucks I had to sell my consoles.

I played this at an MLG expo in Raleigh, and it was actually a ton of fun. It had some technical issues back then, but the combination of base-building with CTF and vehicles made for a frantic mix that I don't see often. The biggest issue I see it having is similar to MAG, it requires a good bit of coordination between teammates, and PS3s aren't known for having a lot of players with mics.

Never got a code with my uncharted 3 copy?

One of my old Warhawk clanmates is playing the beta right now. I guess it's live already. Or maybe he went to visit the devs in Austin again.

Does anyone have an exact date for Uncharted access?

Warhawk was my first ps3 game and I have great memory's of that game. Hope starhawk continues that.

And over the first comments I was thinking, they can't really mean 'Warhawk'.

If the community ends up being like Warhawk, then mics will not be necessary to enjoy basic-level strategy. No one talked over the mic in Warhawk, yet objective-based games like CTF and King of the Hill felt very organized. People in jeeps and in warhawks coordinated frequently to get the flag, groups understood that one or two people should defend a capture zone while another couple of people should go out to capture another point, et cetera. It felt like the majority of people on the official servers understood that working together to win was paramount to K/D ratios or going lone wolf.

You're not going to get PC Battlefield-like teamwork during a game, but the cooperative play in Warhawk hit the minimum level for enjoyment.

After looking at some footage, I gotta say that Starhawk looks way more fun than Warhawk.
