I want to take a bath on Steam Sales.

i'd say add games your interested in to your wishlist so you can quickly and easily see the deals on games you want. I've slowly been adding games to my wishlist just to prepare and now it's a pretty long list but it'll help me speed up the money spending process!

Two things to look for this year:

-There are sometimes price errors on the first day; I've only seen this twice, last year's summer sale, Force Unleased 2, for about the first 2-3 hours of the event it was 75% off then it was corrected, the last x-mas sale games were removed from the Warner Bros. collection a few hours after that sale started. Most recommend waiting until the last day for non daily deals, but if there is something amazing on that first day (75%+) go for it.

-Steam has in the past run out of game keys which ended some deals early; if you are planning on getting Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning, you may want to get that early rather than later as I don't think there is any way for Steam to get more keys to that game once they run out.

A bit of summer sale has arrived early! L.A. Noire is going for 3.74USD without DLC and 5.74USD with DLC!

Penny Arcade double pack (first two episodes of "On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness") is only $3.00. That is worth it.

TF2 Summer update is live. This may or may not be a sign that the sale starts tomorrow. I'm going to cross my fingers.

I still have so many untouched Steam games, but I'll probably still spend $20.

I've been very selective the past few sales, but that trend can end this sale if Steam delivers the deals. 
 
I've already been practicing this month by buying that cube pack last week and L.A. Noire... which I cannot get to fucking run, Rockstar.

GOG's been kicking my ass all week, so I am sort of hoping that this Steam sale doesn't start too soon. Backlog-wise I'm set until Autumn. (2023.)

@jacksmedulla: Yeah, I've been noticing that as well. I'm trying to download some games and it's just crawling. Part of me wonders if the pyro update for TF2 is part of the problem, but I just don't know.

I did that. Bought Europa Universalis 3 when I knew I wouldn't ever play it because I had tried to learn Hearts of Iron 3, which is kinda similar, and completely gave up.

EUIII is a different beast and a lot easier to get into imho. Still a learning curve, for sure.
