What games are egregiously absent from Steam? I tried to start this list before, but it was too broad at the time, including games that weren't on any digital distribution platform at all. However, I've decided to redo it using Steam as my target DD platform. So what games would you like to see on Steam?
I'm going to be archiving suggestions here!
Steam
Concept »
A digital distribution service owned by Valve Corporation. Originally created to distribute Valve's own games, Steam has since become the de facto standard for digital distribution of PC games.
I'm making a list, and I'm asking you guys...
I wouldn't mind seeing League of Legends on there to be part of their "free games" lineup, but with DOTA 2 coming that probably won't happen.
Battle for Middle Earth 2 (and 1 and its expansions iirc).
Was looking for that game on Steam lately, it ain't there.
I'm not sure if Bullet Candy 3D or Saira count, since the versions I got weren't related to Steam. However, I do know that Digital: A Love Story and Cortex Command are nowhere to be found on Steam.
I got a good one Metal Gear Solid and Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance!
I'll update the OP with these awesome suggestions, and here's the list.

Indie wise I'd like to see Starfarer.
Where should the line be drawn with this list -- Free games? Really old games? Games that aren't available anywhere at all? Games that will never ever be on Steam (Startcraft II)?
Also:
- Prey
- Minecraft
- Black and White 1, 2
- Age of Empires 1, 2, 3 (+ expansions)
- Any Blizzard game (WoW, Warcraft, Starcraft, Diablo)
- The Curse of Monkey Island, Escape from Monkey Island (they have the remakes and the Telltale episodes, but not the third and fourth games)
Any gray areas like Microsoft PC games will be judged by me. Or you guys, I don't know yet.
Edit: No more gray areas, I'm just going to throw everything in there. Since the general consensus seems to be that everything should be on Steam, it makes more sense to put everything on this list.
@TaliciaDragonsongTaunt me some more, why don't cha? :(Battle for Middle Earth 2 (and 1 and its expansions iirc).Hells yeah! Loved those. Epic battles and really fun in coop skirmish.

@TaliciaDragonsong Nazghul diving into a group of soldiers, picking one up and then using him to "bomb" the others ;) SorryCheers.
:(
But why? What would that add?I wouldn't mind seeing League of Legends on there to be part of their "free games" lineup
Anyway, Gemini Rue was submitted to Steam but Valve said they didn't think it was right for their audience.
Also, the first Alice isn't available fucking anywhere.
@Galiant said:I already use Steam for all my voice chat purposes, it could track my game time, possibly the addition of achievements? It would also give them some more players perhaps. I could see when my friends were on without logging in to LoL too I guess. But why? What would that add?I wouldn't mind seeing League of Legends on there to be part of their "free games" lineup

Why are there free games on Steam at all? =P
@Saethir said:Yes, both 1 and 2.thats a pretty big omission right there, does good old games have it?the Baldur's Gate series
Sins of a Solar Empire and any of the other Stardock games. Any of the Microsoft games like Freelancer, Age of Empires, the first Fable, Halo and Gears of War.
@ajamafalousBecause Valve takes a cut on all the microtransactions, as well as getting people to look at the Steam store.@Galiant said:I already use Steam for all my voice chat purposes, it could track my game time, possibly the addition of achievements? I dunno, I think Riot's doing fine without having their game on Steam, and I don't think they'd want to lose a cut of their profits by putting the game on Steam.
A bunch of free MMOs. Kind of shocking how many f2p games there are out there and yet Steam has only a tiny fraction of them. I can think of quite a few that would benefit from being on Steam...
You should check it out.
Even though, I've got over 100 games on the list in the link above, it's still been kind of a flop. People said Starcraft too many times, and I'm all like "NO! Starcraft has plenty of excuses from steam! Above all its excuses is that it's freaking Starcraft!". Nobody reads the entire thread.
I also added Rayman Arena, because I know how much Rayman fans love that game.
- Blizzard games can't be on this list. I think Blizzard's DD platform is fine, and I also think Battle.net is fine.
- Defunct MMOs can't be on here.
- Free flash games can't be on this list.
I hope I'm not the only one who saw the title of this thread and started singing Santa Claus is Coming to Town to himself.
Did anyone else read the topic title to the tune of "Santa Clause is Coming to Town"?

Thank god I'm not insane. I can identify with Mr. Jeff GoldblumI hope I'm not the only one who saw the title of this thread and started singing Santa Claus is Coming to Town to himself.
