@nightriff: There is but I never tried multiplayer, just finished the campaign. If it's technically well done it might be a lot of fun. Seems like most if not all modes are competitive though.

Steam Summer Sale 2015 - June 11th - June 21st, Now Live
Not surprising a lot of people find themselves buying fewer games. 90% of the games on sale have been at similar discounts in past sales so a lot of more hardcore gamers will already own a lot of what is being offered.
I've been picking up a bunch of stuff, but then again this is the first time in a long time that I've had a capable pc. Picked up Borderlands 1&2 GOTY, Lethal League, and Chivalry today. Chivalry and Lethal League are insane, and I love it. Haven't gotten around to Borderlands, I got sucked into a Heroes campaign.
Haven't bought anything yet. The sale prices seem to be quite a bit higher than they have been in the past. Definitely a lot of price hiking going on.
if you look up diminishing returns on urban dictionary there is probably that one picture of gabe newell with all of the steam sale prices shooting out of his head
I'm tempted to pick up Prison Architect for $4.49, but I just watched the quick look from 2013. It was early access at the time and it's still early access now... so are they every planning on "releasing" the game?
@bceagles128: It does look kind of bad but that game gets updated just about every single month with entirely new systems and concepts. While it still is in early access because I think they want to build a story mode, you could easily play that game for hours and hours right now. I think there still is a little jank in it, especially when they add new things but its pretty fun and is pretty content packed if your just looking for that kind of game
I think today's featured sale games are pretty weak? Like, get The Banner Saga and Luftrausers if you haven't already.
Other than that, there are some games where I can't fathom how you haven't bought them already (L4D2, Super Meat Boy, Red Faction: Guerilla). Not a great set of Flash Sales at the moment.
I guess people have their pick of shootey games, between Far Cry, Call of Duty, and some of the Aliens games. And then putting the entire Civilization franchise up against poor little Endless Legend seems a little unfair to Endless Legend.
@bisonhero: I think Endless Legend will be okay it still fills a niche that Civ doesn't, Fantasy. However, I probably won't get either.
Probably picking up Grim Fandago and Banner Saga.
I've still only purchased one game, and what a game it is.
I think the sale has been pretty good so far.
@kaiserreich: holy crap, so if you do well enough does someone from NORAD give you a call?
Games "Haul" as of today: Portal, Tomb Raider, Guns of Icarus Online, Rock of Ages, Outland, Nidhogg.
Also, I don't think there's an official Trading Card thread that has recent activity (according to the boards lists), so I wanted to put it out there that if there is any duder that wants to trade cards and has doubles or something, then please add me here: http://steamcommunity.com/id/adriano5401 (display name on Steam is "Aidros"). I'll be online during the Bethesda presser so feel free to message if you need a trade. Peace!
Today is probably the most I will get at once with Fable Anniversary, Endless Legend and How to Survive.
Decided to refund Tabletop. It's a really cool game that has a lot of potential but... unless you have a friend or two to play with, it's next to useless. I'll get it again someday when the price is lower and I've got more homies to play it with.
Otherwise, my gets as of now are:
- Legend of Korra
- Rock of Ages
- Sonic and All Stars Racing Transformed
- Sonic CD
- Waking Mars
For around $14, I'd say it's a decent haul so far for me. It's my first Summer Sale so there's still plenty of games to be purchased and not played for months.
I bought Lovely Planet and I am enjoying it way more than I thought I would. The levels are varied and the whole game feels really well designed, it gets challenging quickly but you can instantly restart ala Meat Boy and the timing stays the same every time. If you are a fan of twitch shooters on the PC it's worth playing, it will probably improve your aim too.
It's really satisfying when you beat a level like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3ZEqN5x5bVk
I popped on over to Origin to check out if they had a sale going on, and as it would turn out they do.
Aside from Far Cry 3 (which I got from today's steam deals) I also picked up Crysis 3, Syndiate and Titanfall.
So far I have gotten:
Doorkickers- 8$ fucking amazing game
Shadowgate 4$, has been on my wishlist since it came out but always wanted to wait for it to get cheap before picking it up
The Masterplan 16$, regular 21$ or something but it came out a week ago so I wasnt expecting anything crazy
Halfway 6$, Art seems cool and the premise is different, I also love turn-based and scifi
anyone on Steam wants to add me: Guinness & Whiskey
Castle crashers complete for 1.49 is a damn steal! I will replay that game to death with friends.
How to Survive (complete) - $0.99 - been wanting to try this for a long while now.
So far I have picked up: Oddworld: NEw n' Tasty, Hotline Miami 2, Valkyria Chronicles, Grim Fandango and Killer is Dead. Still some of the prices seem higher than before...
Is the price they're selling Elite: Dangerous for reasonable? It still seems a little steep, even with the daily deal discount, but I suppose it's a fairly recent release.
can anyone tell me how the final fantasy xiii pc port is? I'm intrigued even with d/l size but unsure at how well it runs.
Dino D-Day is $0.49 for the next 27 hours, and it looks like there might be people online to actually play with (according to SteamCharts.com)
I mean, its probably horrible but I'm strangely tempted...
@memonk: I haven't played Hot Pursuit for a while but I had fun with it, multiplayer was pretty fun with a couple of friends too, can't really go wrong for $4.
So far I'm at:
- King of Fighters 98
- King of Fighters 2002
- Nidhogg
- The Witcher Adventure Game
- $40 of Rocksmith DLC
- Cook Serve Delicious
- Grim Fandango
- Prison Architect
Looking like the only thing I'll be picking up on this sale is Telltale's Game of Thrones. The days of buying things on Steam sales because they are cheap and look kinda neat gone. Even most of the games on my wishlist could wait until the next sale.
...though Grim Fandango and Don't Starve are tempting...
edit:
Damnit, typing this message was the catalyst to push me over the edge and buy Grim.
Got a few games out of my wishlist with this sale, and a couple others that I figured would be fun.
In Total:
- Divinity: Original Sin
- MASSIVE CHALICE
- Banished
- Galactic Civilizations 3
- Starpoint Gemini 2
- Age of Wonders 3: Eternal Lords expansion
- Prototype 2
- Prison Architect
So I'm set for a good long while.
So now that it's just about over (and I don't think I want anything else right now) here's my list that no one actually cares about but I'm bored so I'll copy/paste what I bought.
Neverending Nightmares |
Life Is Strange Complete Season (Episodes 1-5) |
Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Conviction - Echelon Edition (actually I got all the Splinter Cell games except blacklist in a bundle because it was super cheap but it doesn't list them all for some weird reason) |
Contrast |
The Vanishing of Ethan Carter |
Alien: Isolation |
A Bird Story |
Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor Game of the Year Edition |
Broken Sword 5 - the Serpent's Curse |
Randal's Monday |
The Fall |
Primordia |
Commander Keen Complete Pack |
It was easier this year to get games cheap- there was more stuff I wanted that went below 60% so that helped. I feel pretty good about it being that I didn't spend very much, but now I have an even bigger backlog and I'm still not sure how I feel about my video game problem =P
The last time I bought so many games on a Steam sale was during Winter 2013.
- Hatoful Boyfriend
- FRACT OSC
- Freedom Planet
- One Way Heroics
- Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes
- Door Kickers
- PAYDAY 2 DLC (Alesso Heist, BBQ Pack, Western Pack, B-Sides Soundtrack)
- The Talos Principle
- The Vanishing of Ethan Carter
- rymdkapsel
- A Story About My Uncle
- Child of Light + The Golem's Plight
- Rock of Ages
- Don't Starve + Reign of Giants
Great sale overall. There's still some stuff I wanted to get that was in nice prices, but I'm set for now - especially since I need to place a pre-order on The Phantom Pain (mostly because I hope the shop will pull a The Last of Us and send me the game 3 days before the premiere) and I'm getting a 3DS soon.
My final list of gets:
- Legend of Korra
- Rock of Ages
- Sonic and All Stars Racing Transformed
- Sonic CD
- Sonic Adventure 2 (I now own this goddamn game on every platform it's been released on)
- Waking Mars
- Just Cause Franchise Pack (I actually just wanted JC2 but this was $1 more and came with all the DLC and the original JC so... why not)
- Super Meat Boy
- The Walking Dead Season 2
There were quite a few other games I wanted to get, but decided I'd best wait until the next big sales event. I have more than enough now to keep me busy for quite awhile.
Also bought Tabletop Simulator and Rayman Legends but had them refunded. Tabletop because, as I stated above, doesn't offer much of anything for single player and Rayman because I think I played enough of that game across three different platforms. (Plus I don't want to deal with Uplay)
Very happy overall though. Probably only spent around $30, which is great because I still have about $20 in my Steam Wallet that I can put towards Pirate Warriors 3 in August.
If anyone's wondering, the highest level one can reach in the Monster Game is 100,000,000

There are some games on my wishlist that are the cheapest they've ever been, or really close, but I already have much more than 100 games in my backlog. Knowing that gave me the strength to just stop spending... for now.
Also, I finished Ep. 3 of Life is Strange about a week ago and I STILL can't stop thinking about it. I've been on the steam forums for it just reading everyone's theories on everything. I have become really attached to that game.
I've also been playing a lot of Blockstorm, yeah it's probably another indie trash but damn I've been having SO much fun with it, I always laugh when I play.
It was easier this year to get games cheap- there was more stuff I wanted that went below 60% so that helped. I feel pretty good about it being that I didn't spend very much, but now I have an even bigger backlog and I'm still not sure how I feel about my video game problem =P
I feel your pain, I kept adding games and then going to myself "your backlog is big enough, stop, there will always be more sales, stoooop" but I just wouldn't listen to me, cursed self control! I need to hit a breaking zen moment where I go "I have enough, I no longer care to gain more" uhg.
Got about 12 games. Most were below 50%, got Convoy for only 10% percent off as an impulse buy after seeing Mad Max haha.
I lucked out. I wanted a lot of things, but they didn't hit reasonable price points.
All I got was King of Fighters XIII Steam Edition.
I really wanted Divinity Original Sin to be like $15.00 or less, but meh.
Edit:
Went back to look and caved in on Xcom Complete Edition. That should hold me over until SF5 beta. Hope it's a good SP romp! :)
Hm, I'm thinking of some last minute DLC purchases - are DmC: Vergil's Downfall or Dishonored: Knife of Dunwall worth getting?
This was my first summer sale were I didn't buy a single thing. Nothing grabbed my attention. I already own plenty to keep me busy and there's other games coming out soon that I'm interested in playing.
A friend was kind enough to gift me Valkyrie Chronicles though.
I bought more than I intended, Metro Redux, Valkyria Chronicles, This War of Mine, Gods Will Be Watching, Wolfenstein: The New Order Review, Castle Crashers, J.U.L.I.A., The Vanishing of Ethan Carter, The Talos Principle, The Fall, Please, Don’t Touch Anything, The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Saints Row: Gat Out of Hell
I'm a little disappointed that AC Unity wasn't priced better, though I guess that saves me from having to play it.
@bisonhero: Lots of people seem to have missed this but they stated several times during development that the game would not be discounted for the first 6 months after release (outside of the 10% discount I believe it had upon release on PS4) and that any sales would be announced via the game's official Twitter or website "months" in advance.
So if you want to play it before the Winter Sale it'll be at full price.

I picked up:
- homeworld collection
- how to survive
- killer is dead
- dcs f86 sabre
- dcs the ultimate argument campaign
- project zomboid
- one way heroics
- sakura spirit (for an ungrateful friend)
- dirt rally
- dcs mig 21
Dirt rally is the only one I've put some real time into and holy crap it's so good.
Didn't intend to get anything, so I only ended up buying L.A Noire, Sir You are Being Hunted, Wolfenstein TNO, Borderlands 2, This War of Mine, Call of Juarez Gunslinger, Saints Row the third and Valiant Hearts. Goddamnit.
@kidavenger: Yeah, I was actually pretty tempted by Unity even at the price they were asking, because it's an Assassin's Creed game and I have to 100% them all because I secretly think my free time has no value or something, I guess? Suppose it will have to wait.
