So, the time is near for the steam summer sale (about two weeks), and I wanted to get some predictions/wishes on/for sales and your thoughts on when and or if it will happen?

Pumped as hell! I hope there's a really good sale on ARMA 2 Combined Operations since I really wanna try out DayZ. Big titles like Skyrim are probably gonna get a really nice discount, if they follow the standard format. But who knows? Maybe they'll do something completely different this year?

I'm super excited, especially since I finally have a gaming PC. I hope to pick up all the old Jedi Knight games, AC Revelations, Binding of Isaac, the Civ V expansion, Krater and probably a whole bunch of unexpected knee jerk purchases. Sales are so great.

I'm hoping for an Arma II pack, I've been itching to play DayZ for a while now.

Im pumped sir! Arma II, like everyone, cause I really need to try Day Z.Other than that, Witcher 2, AC:Rev and whatever else my brain thinks is a good idea at the time :p

It's not two weeks the summer sale will probably start on the last Thursday of June like previous years.

Hoping for Krater, Splice, and Tiny and Big.

They all just came out but, this is a Steam sale after all.

I'm hyped for it! Especially if I actually have money for it this year... Plus it will give me a chance to buy something to donate to the GB Steam Giveaway Group.

I've already entered the zone of diminishing returns for Steam Sales. I already have most of what I want. I'll try to grab a copy or two of ArmA II, though.

I'm not excited, I'm scared... now that I have finally built a PC that can run anything, considering that before the one thing that prevented me from buying everything was not being able to run 80% of the games on sale... I'm fucking doomed.

But seriously I'm hoping for a arma II combined operations sale, skyrim, Just cause 2(already played it on my PS3 but want to try the PC version), the fallout games maybe.

I am pumped. Hoping to see some good collections (Assassin's Creed doesn't have one yet, right?).

yea that's what I'm hoping for as well.

other than that, I pretty much have all the cool titles from previous sales. what's left on my wish list is mostly very niche stuff or less popular last gen titles that only get reduced if the whole publisher catalog gets a cut like Bully, Prince of Persia '08, Jade Empire or those Dave's Eastern Block Games (TM) like Cryostasis or E.Y.E.

I already own all the games! At least it feels like I do, sometimes. I'll probably just get a thing or two to giveaway.

I'm pumped, but if it's anything like last year I'll already own everything that I really want.

I have quite a list going in. I'm thinking of big titles like Alan Wake, and some earliar smaller games. It's the only way I can justify buying something I already have on console for a couple of games.

Can't get really pumped for these any more. I got everything I want on the store already, and the few games I don't are too new to be dropped to a point that I really want. Ether way, there's always something that surprises me so I will be watching every day like a hawk wearing glasses looking through a telescope like I always do.

I've already bought the original Deus Ex not twenty minutes ago :).

But I have to be careful, as in only buy something if I really, really want it and it's really, really cheap.

I need Fallout new vegas (hopefully the GOTY) because my 13 month old son thought it was hilarious to scrape my 360 copy across my wood floor.

I'll pick up arma 2 if its less than a fiver.

Probably a bit late at this stage, but you should check out Amazon every once in a while. They've done tonnes of deals on SR3 Steam key. Lowest I saw was $12.50. Fuck, I think half my library is from Amazon. Hopefully the Steam Summer sale will fix that though.

Does Giantbomb have a DayZ group? We probably should if most you guys want it. :D

Steam and Sale, the two more horrific words in the English Language when combined. My wallet is already crying.

I hope they put the Civ V expansion at least 50% off.  Its quite a rip off at full price.

I'm so pumped! My bank account on the other hand is not so pumped...

The only big titles I think I'd consider are Alan Wake and The Witcher 2, but they'd have to be pretty cheap. I generally don't buy stuff unless it's sub $5, and I only make exceptions for games that are worth it (I shelled out a whopping $8 for Portal 2).

I'm almost dreading it. Not because of the money so much, but because when I buy something I feel VERY obligated to play and finish it. I already have so many un-played games from these sales it almost makes me a little sick. :(

So basically, YEAH I CAN"T WAIT!!! (man what's wrong with me)

I've been through 4-5 steam seasonal sales now so I have pretty much everything I could want.

They never have in the past, but if they put up an Ubisoft pack, I would probably pick that up.

I can never seem to pull the trigger on the 2K pack, this may be the year for that one too.

@Phatmac: We at the GB PC Gaming Hub are waiting for the summer sale too, and once everyone gets the game we'll probably start having Day Z gamenights, so you're welcome to join up with us.

Super pumped, this will be my second steam sale ever, and I have like 15-20 games on my wishlist currently so I'll probably stock up on some games, since fuck all comes out the rest of this year, the only titles I'm really excited about is Far Cry 3 and Madden, so yeah.

HoMMVI, Grimrock, and Yesterday are my big hopes. We'll see what knee-jerk purchases I make along the way.

I'm excited, but I'm also afraid of the money I will waste. I'm even more afraid that if I don't buy something in the sale, I'll really want to play it later, and then buy it full price.

I'm hoping for a sale on Kingdoms of Amalur, and Fallout 3/New Vegas.

Not really pumped i have ditched my bad habit of buying games just because they are on sale. If there is anything i know i really want to play and most importantly finish i will get it. But other wise not really psyched this year.

All I know is that I made my Wife put money into our savings this time so I don't miss out on some great deals like last year.

Can't wait!

Looks like I'm not alone in wanting to grab Arma II/DayZ. Steam sales make me super excited, which is actually bad. I end up buying things and spending money that I did not plan every single time. You win, Valve.

Thought I'd post this here.

Anyway, I've got five games off the top of my head that I desperately want to walk out of the sale with.

• Krater - Looks like a MOBA fallout/diablo fun thing
• Legend of Grimrock - Because I don't have enough unfinished RPGS
• Titan Quest: Gold - I need more Diablo, but without lag
• Rayman: Origins - Brothers and sisters to play with make this a no brainer
• ARMA Gold/Complete Pack Thing - All the talk about DayZ in this forum has me interested

Arma 2: Combined Ops for $5 so I can play DayZ. 
 
That's about it. There's literally nothing else I wanna buy.

I guess I'd buy Kingdoms of Amalur if it went on a daily sale. And maybe Puzzle Agent 2. And that's pretty much it.

Well, I'd buy The Walking Dead, but I doubt they will put THAT on sale.

Same! I've been thinking about it and they would be mad not to put that on sale, considering how much popularity that has at the moment. Only thing is Steam is still more expensive than buying direct from BIS as a download, so they might only cut it to the normal price.

I've got over 250 games on Steam and played like.. 12 of them properly. I've learned my lesson and will only buy a game I know I will play, regardless of price.
