Since Steam for Mac comes out tomorrow what do you think of this expansion of the Steam system
Steam

A digital distribution service owned by Valve Corporation. Originally created to distribute Valve's own games, Steam has since become the de facto standard for digital distribution of PC games.
What is your opinion of Steam for Mac
I think it is a good idea, and it will open up gaming to Mac owners. However, due to the requirements for some games, and the fact Macs have built a reputation for being hard to upgrade, some games might only be open to higher specced iMacs... and possibly only Mac Pros. Time shall tell. Just out of curiousity, can you quote this post if you own a Mac as well? I'm wondering how many users here are Apple owners in comparison to Windows. I'm not trying to derail this discussion, so I hope if anyone actually quotes this, then they'll have their own opinion as well ;)
I have a mac and I've been waiting for this day to come since I've heard about it. I would definitely like me some steam.
It's nice that Mac users can finally play some games, but I don't foresee the Mac becoming a gaming platform like the PC. Because Apple has such little interest in games. People who play computer games have pretty much sided with the PC, while others have sided with the Mac. I doubt there will be any monumental shifts.
Indifferent, pc gamers and mac gamers doesn't get along too well. I hope your macs aren't going to slow down my game because of meager hardware. You totally don't deserve it, however it's only for a few games. I had to say that, since it's my opinion.
I truly do not understand people who think Mac users "don't deserve it." And they call Mac users elitist? Fuck off.
" @TheHT said:llama bananna pajama zipper rollerskate alabama fiji nikon water tether. whatever you say duder." @Cube said:Typing a bunch of words =/= giving a shit. I am just wasting time. "" @LeetBalla: It's not so much me being a "tough guy" as much as it is me "not giving a shit". "reacting = not giving a shit? :P "
" @Gizmo said:Oh you know what he said was true." Mac users are so far up their own arses i'm sure they won't actually get round to playing any games. They have too many important social events to check out no doubt. "I have a Mac and I've played PC games primarily for many years, fuck off yeah? "
" @Cube said:Not necessarily." @Gizmo said:Oh you know what he said was true. "" Mac users are so far up their own arses i'm sure they won't actually get round to playing any games. " I think it's great! Now if only Mac users had a decent computer to play the latest games. "Hihi
The Apple II was a pretty sweet computer that had some pretty boss games. I wonder what happened to those...
I don't see a negative to bringing Steam to Macs. Not sure why the PC people are getting all up in arms about it. Go back to your mommas basement you greasy faced nerds!
I'm pumped for it. Really happy that Torchlight is going to be among the first few games released tomorrow, and I hope that opening up a distribution platform like Steam to the Mac crowd will only serve to hasten its rise as a legitimate operating system on which to play video games. If not, I suppose there's always Blizzard games.
" The only other computer I could use is a six year old desktop computer. "Awesome. We should start a user group for people who use six year old computers.
As someone who works on a Mac but uses a PC for gaming (and really, "that new Mac feel" wore off looong ago, so to speak), I'm more or less indifferent as I don't think I'll be playing games on my Mac too much. Unless that save-in-the-cloud thing really works. That'd be neat to be able to continue to play a game on my Mac while traveling.
