    The company came about when the Stern family bought Chicago Coin back in 1977. Stern Electronics, Inc. left the amusement business in 1985, but came back as Stern Pinball, Inc. in 1999, focusing on manufacturing arcade pinball machines, including CSI Pinball, Batman Pinball, Shrek Pinball, Indiana Jones Pinball, Pirates of the Caribbean Pinball and more.
