    I'm enjoying Strafe a lot! Nothing comes close to Doom, but Strafe has a good mix of Quake's movement, Half-Life's action, and arcade shoot 'em up gameplay. Curious to see how the full game (with all the secrets and whatnot) will play. Feels like it was made for speedrunning.

    Skeptical of procedural level design, though. It's worked in tile-based games like Wolfenstein 3D and sector-based games like Doom, but new fangled 3D games struggle to make levels in such a way that they could easily be expressed in code; procedurally.

    Playing it right now, having loads of fun. The turrets are a bit too small and get lost in the particle bonanza. Assault rifle is the only worthy weapon and its grenade launcher is faster than the shotgun and plasma gun's secondary fires so why bother with them. Here is my crappy speedrun:

    I watched ster streaming this game where he got the highscore in everything. It seems really cool, I hope they make the kickstarter goal because I want to play the finished version.
