I read that EX Wall dive isn't invincible to the wall anymore. So if they are going to rob Gen of his only escape move then, yes, he should get a counter.

@SpecialBuddy: What the hell? Capcom further nerfed Gen? Has there been any mention of new moves for Gen? I reckon since Vega is getting some nice buffs Gen will also be getting some love.

Well, his jumps are being altered for SSF IV. They'll also be different depending on which stance he's in.

Well they are actually mixing up the jumps. I read that his mantis jump is now higher than his crane jump but is still just as fast as his old jump. Which is weird but whatever.

They are giving him more links though. Supposedly he can do all the links he had on Alpha.

@Stang: Countering counter is easy, either empty jump low attack (since he's probably countering high) or empty jump nothing/throw. If you give Gouken a good reason to counter he will, if you give him a bunch not to he won't.

Yeah, I wasn't doing too good! XD I was kind of preoccupied by the "recording equipment" (turns out it didn't even capture the last match, even when I was trying to fix it up while playing), but you probably would have won anyways because your Ken is better than your Ryu.

Yeah my Ryu is garbage, I just picked him because I can actually pressure you with fireballs with him. I still don't know how to effectively get past your turtling though.

Alright, uploaded the video. Muted the sound because of various reasons, but the quality is okay. Had to download a random video editor because Windows Movie Maker doesn't support Quicktime files, hence the watermark. I'd also appreciate getting some pointers/tips to make me less... bad.

Just my observations from the times I have played you:

You turtle too much. Instead of waiting for somebody to make a mistake and react to it, create some opportunities on your own. The best Balrog's I have played are rush down, not turtle.

You use the ex lower rush punch too much. In that video you caught me with an ex overhead because I expected another lower rush. Mix it up more to keep us off guard.

Start using combos.

STOP TURTLING!

I think you would be deadly if you mixed things up a little honestly. As it is, it is fucking hard to get through your defense. If your offense was as effective as your defense I would be scurred.

@FluxWaveZ: Headbutt into Ultra needs to come out every time. It looked like Stang started throwing EX fireballs just to make sure he hit you out of your EX dash punches/turn-around punch. I guess at the beginning of a match you can focus fireballs more freely to build Revenge meter. If you can get in close, i guess you could mix up with throw and other stuff. like jab,jab, throw? i don't know i don't play Rog.

@AURON570: Yeah, I guess I do rely on TAP a little too much. I'm not too into the idea of focusing fireballs just to build up the Revenge gauge in the beginning of a match, but I suppose that could be an option. Jab, jab, throw would definitely not work close quarters, but I guess I should use the throw a little more (maybe?). I definitely need to learn how to counter throw someone, though.

Edit: Sure! I don't usually play with a headset, but I could put it on for future matches.
