A video I made on electric blanka usage! ( @Jeffsekai: represent blanka power! )
Roll film!
Street Fighter IV
Game » consists of 9 releases. Released Jul 18, 2008
After nearly a decade in hiatus, Capcom's signature mainline fighting game series resurfaces with its fourth main installment, combining the traditional 2D gameplay with modern fully-3D graphics.
Do not FEAR!
I generally put Blanka players into two different categories:
1) Chubby Bearded Men (seriously. look at old Evo footage if you don't believe me)
2) Assholes who know they are assholes.
Jeff is on his way to being a Chubby Bearded Man so I ask.....are you an asshole?

I mean, I am fat, IDK if that influenced me to choose to play blanka (no beard atm).
Many people think me to be the opposite of an asshole... but I dont care if anyone does.
Anyways, I don't really fit completely into one of those, but I am slightly overweight.
" @SpecialBuddy said:If your going to school, and the reason your can't grow a beard is that it's against the rules... are you a man child?" @demontium: Well then grow a beard and you will no longer be an asshole. "I see your logic. My school restricts beards. "
But seriously, don't play Blanka, its very close to Sagat and Dhalsim on matches that I hate.
I can't actually grow a beard, I have Joe Dirt facial hair.
The setup @ 0:32 Ryu can use an invincible move to go right through the electricity. Resets are risky in itself.

Elec is great n all but you cant rely on that I only really use it during block strings not so much AA, takes too long to start up unless I know its coming. ALSO Pianoing is for babies get a glove son! ( ALSO ALSO I will have shitty match footage up of me soon.)

"If you see a ryu do that once, I warned people to make sure they have a lead when doing these resets, otherwise watch the meter, and know that LP will stop any shoryu other than EX, and if he pulls a tatsu or hado electric goes under it and punishes (ex as well)
This is just too weird. our local Blanka player (champion) is a chubby bearded man.
This is not coincidence anymore, its a stereotype!
" @SpecialBuddy said:Damn that sucks." @demontium: Well then grow a beard and you will no longer be an asshole. "I see your logic. My school restricts beards. "
" @Stang: what exactly would be the purpose of gloves in a gym? Do they have a picture of spiderman on them? Or the hulk, that would be more suiting i guess. "Have you ever tried doing shrugs with 2 80 pound dumb bells, or bench 2 80 pound dumb bells? That shit shreds up your hands!
" @demontium: I thought you provided good insight sir. I still think you are an asshole for using Blanka though, nothing will ever change that. "Cool! If you like my video than thats all that matters correct?!
Anyways I am fat AND an asshole, uber blanka player FTW!

" @Plasma: I feel like no one knows what pianoing is. Just cuz Blanka is using elec doesn't mean hes pianoing. "I completely agree. Pianoing is a technique used when you need to get a lot of button inputs within a few frames. Sliding is a completely different technique but it produces the same outcome. For example honda hhs requires 5 punches to be quickly pressed. It's easy enough to just mash down on one button to get the 5 presses out, but if you're trying to combo into the hhs from another move you need a much faster way to do it. I piano by hitting lp hp mp lp hp. The first lp will come out as a regular old jab and it also gets counted towards the 5 presses needed o get hhs. It's important that the last button is hp because you want to use the fierce version of the hhs. If you do it all fast enough then honda will combo jab into fierce hhs. It's also a safe blockstring which is why it's so important.
I don't know if this applies to blanka, chun, or gen because I don't know how many buttons must be pressed for their moves to come out, how fast they must be pressed, or what normals to use before pianoing.
I'm going to take a stand and say that pianiong is harder but more reliable than sliding. Maybe it's not for everyone but I do think it's worth the time to work out. Back when I used to slide to get hhs out I ran into all kinds of problems. Sometimes I would accidentally hit kick buttons, sometimes I wouldn't slide far enough / fast enough, sometimes I would somehow get ex hhs instead of just regular hhs.
Yeah, sliding is the poor man's piano. Or in the times you don't care what version comes out you'll slide. I can't do either since I'm on pad but that's why I don't play those characters!
(Ps. I need a new 360 controller now lmao. I managed to break the RB so need to push it really hard for it to work ;( Damn it.)
" i tried to learn gen for a few days once. Got mad blisters on my index finger from sliding. "I think after being sucha long blanka user as myself, you get used to the button pounding, which is actually more of a VERY light but quick tap motion.@Plasma said:
" Does this count as a WOMBO COMBO? (Yes its on topic, it has Blanka in it, and mad piano execution.)Further proof that Blanka > Gen

Pianoing is pretty tough, I generally do it too fast so it turns into a plink, and I get ex hands instead of normal hands. Sliding is annoying because I hit other buttons, and I don't like moving my hand at all while hitting buttons. Moral of the story, characters with mash specials are dumb.

one thing that helped me slow it down and even it out was trying to concentrate on hearing the press of each individual button, then my pianoing became much smoother

"Reason being I am on the edge of my seat knowing DeeJay's maraca punch could very well be a mash special in Super. That would be defestating to me.
