No problem man, I've replied. I played squirtle-squad in some laggy-ass matches earlier and he owned me, so as some sort of make-shift prize he can have the spot. I'll change the name of the player etc.

So after playing a bunch of matches with squirtle squad, Darknight finally went on and we got the match out of the way. It wasn't until after the second match of dropped combos intercepted with SRK moves that I remembered my torrent was still on. So I basically just screwed myself out the first round. Of course we played some more after the set and it was more of a back and forth results. You need to sign on some more Darknight so I can get my revenge. Guess I have to fight my way out of losers now.

@Sleepy_Insomniac: No problem, dude. He has till tomorrow, then if he hasn't got in contact there are people willing to take his place. squirtle-squad got side-lined as IronKnight turned up, so I'm sure he'll play if it comes to it.

Still waiting on a couple of games, but its gone pretty well so far I think, bar shifty connections here and there. Mine has been really off and on lately (awful connection with a lot of my friends list, but intermittently decent with others), so hopefully it shouldn't pose a problem later.

...and I picked up Ken :)

@Sleepy_Insomniac: I believe Squirtle is beatable, its just Blanka has a million ways of attacking you, unless you got major blanka experience, its over before you know it. This is why I'm always down for more matches against this guy since one day I'll figure him out, one day.....

@StaticFalconar: Squirtle Squad is a beast. I think I beat him in the first GB tournament in the very first match but not a single time since. Like you said, he's not unbeatable. You would just have to have a ton of Blanka experience. Someone like myself, who stopped playing the game for almost six months, wouldn't stand a chance.

My PS3 got the dreaded YLOD this morning. I'm goning to try and get a friend's PS3 over so I can finish the tourney. It sucks because i'm so freakin' excited about fighting you guys, i've been training non-stop and now this happens. Anyway i'll try and get this next fight happening asap. Me and NinjaHunter decided to have are match early and just for the record It was 2-1, I think I should have used my main Sakura for the tournament because we had some great matches afterward .

I lost the first 2 won the 3

Preliminary stages are played best of 3 rounds for a match, best of 3 matches to win.

All finals will be best of 3 rounds for a match, best of 5 rounds to win.

But I think its still the prelims so I don't think it matters

squirtle-squad, I'm going to severely up my game over the next few days. If I don't see you again in the tourny, I'll be looking for a rematch when I'm not so shit :)

How are people dealing with lag? I don't know if its just that I'm GMT and most of you guys are American and what-not, but its seemed pretty intense recently. Par for the course with Capcom I guess.

Ok 2-1 then. I wasn't sure if we are going to count the last one because our match up was technically over by the end of the 2nd one.

@NinjaHunter: With best of 3 though, if someone wins two matches in a row, that's technically the end of the fight, so it wouldn't be 2-1 unless both players had a win, and it had to go to a third round. Thats the way I've been listing the scores at least. Yup, 2 rounds for a match; its the typical format most people play ie. 99 seconds, best of 3 rounds, the winner wins 2 (so the final score is either 2-0 or 2-1).

Anybody up for practice matches today?

AURON570 posted that his PS3 YLOD'd, so its looking pretty unlikely he'll finish in time. I did offer a couple of extra days earlier in the week, so if he needs them that still stands. Otherwise its DQ and you'll face whoever his opponent is.

@GetEveryone: Where did I say that my PS3 YLOD'd? I have my reasons for not being on PSN, but "to avoid this tournament" or "because my PS3 died" aren't among them. I will not mind being disqualified at this point. I haven't stuck to the deadlines and that's that.

@GetEveryone: Me and copycat got our match out of the way. I won it two zip. Took 20 mins to make sure everybody in the house wasn't using the net and turned off all comps to make sure no torrents were running, not making that mistake again.

@MikeFightNight: If you could get the fight done quickly that may be better than just advancing someone for a DQ. If Ravioli_Sumo is game for that, then I'd say yes, but the match should be fought today.
