Street Fighter IV tournament (Xbox360)
I'm going to say this is an upset, but you could be Justin Wong as far as I know, so maybe not. I'm guessing you guys must have played 3/5 sets instead of 2/3 to get that score? Well, whatevs." Spoa (Blacken00) defeats SpecialBuddy (CannedHedgehogs) 3 - 2. "
Wait what? These rules for how many games we play are confusing. Just give it to me in simple people talk. What was it a first to? We played a first to 6 cause thats what it sounded like based on the first post." @spoa said:

Why isn't this just a regular tournament style tournament?
first to win 2 sets wins. you win a set by winning 2 matches. a match is first to win 2 99 second rounds. I vote for making all the rounds up until the finals 1 set only, (or just simply best 2 out of 3) the way they do it in tournaments. the championship match should be best 3 out of 5.
spoa, who did you use?
And I almost raged like a 6 year old when you were a breath away of beating me in the Ken mirror. Don't play with my heart like that.
" I beat coonce 4-0. Dude was very cool and we had some good games. We need to get more of the staff to join next time, coonce said Jeff was pretty good, and that he and Dave used to play when the game came out. "I would like to see how my honda matches up against Jeff's honda. He's the reason I picked honda in the first place.
" @Symphony: I highly doubt I would have beat you like that if you would have actually used your 2 beasts! Guile, Vega..did I miss the memo or something?? Hey, at least you are competent with a lot of the cast, all I have is Ken and easy mode Ryu. And I almost raged like a 6 year old when you were a breath away of beating me in the Ken mirror. Don't play with my heart like that. "Pssh my plan was to use different characters in the tournament anyhow! Totally throw people off and such. Though I have a focus attack addiction problem. I really should seek some help ; ;

If you guys like, I will change it to one set of 2/3, since that seems to make more sense anyway. Finals can be 3/5. The only reason I kept it in this strange set format was because the OP sort of put it in place.
" @Symphony: You are an expert taunter though! I'm too scurred to taunt, in the past I have had the tendency to do it at the least opportune times. Maybe you can teach me the ways of taunting properly some day :) "taunt after lvl 3 focus and then f.dp.....cancel into super if you have meter and feel like being extra douchey
I don't even mind ex messiah that much. Rog has no answer to dive kick pressure though, and I'm not confident enough in any other character yet to switch. Also, I have no experience against Rufus, very few people play him online." @AniMoney: You are telling me you don't enjoy mashed ex messiah kicks? They personally make my day. "

" @spoa said:I didn't like the format at first either, but after actually playing I like having multiple sets. I don't think it's a good idea to change the format in the middle of the tournament." @Thrawn said:Overweight and asian, happens to the best of us. It takes some practice, but you'll have it down in no time! :D

" Winner plays me. I can't just fight any monkey so I'm glad you guys put together this tornyment to see who's worthy to loose to me. "God forbid, we sure wouldn't want to loose to you of all people.
Super close match-up between Flux and I.
He took the first set 3-0, I took the second 3-1 (we DCed during a match where he was winning 1 round to 0 so I'll award that to him. He beat my Gief up bad ; ;) and I took the final round 3-2, came down to the wire at the very end.
Went with 3 rounds per set as that's how it was initially set up but even if we knocked it down to 2 wins per set it would have went the same as Flux won the first two in the first (and the third), I won the first two in the second, and the first two in the third.
His Balrog is a beast, completely shot down my Sakura in one match and I had to resort to using Chun most of the time and even then all the matches were really close.
symphony, who do you main?
Btw everyone, don't play first to 4 because that's not how it works. When you play according to sets instead of 1st to 4 it's possible that the person who gets 4 wins first could end up losing. Say person A wins 2 games, therefore winning a set. Person A wind another match but then person B wins 2 matches. Both players are tied at 1 set each and they are also tied at 3 wins each. According to the 1st to 4 ruleset, the next player to win a match would achieve victory. However we're playing by sets so in order to win at this point a player has to win 2 matches. (a set)
Still haven't gotten a hold of PureRok, I'd like to speed things up if at all possible, but it's looking bleak in that regard. He hasn't been on live since the 10th and I've been online from the times he specified he's available, plus some. Hopefully he resurfaces soon.

Dude, Thrawn plays the most hair-pullingly frustrating down/back Honda you will ever encounter. That guy will stare you to death. Also, as he could probably tell, I have no idea which buttsplashes are safe and which aren't. Shit was free on me all day. I worked him pretty good when I got in... but I live in constant fear of the buttsplash. Great games, man. Your repeated splashing will not work on me again! Final score was like... Four games to two.
