So in a match earlier today, I got so fumingly pissed that I ended up breaking my controller beyond repair. Even though this may seem like a simple LULZ situation, I feel it was a sign that I needed to move on from Street Fighter IV, and gaming, for right now. You see, I play a lot of Street Fighter IV. I probably don't play as much as the rest of you do, but I do play a lot. Unfortunately, it's began to bleed into the rest of my life, and my schoolwork has suffered because of it. This is a habit that I need to drop now. I'm close to graduating, and I hope to be a graphic designer in the field by early next year, and so I must give it my all if I want to succeed. For this, it's either do or die. If I fail, I go back to retail making shit money and living paycheck to paycheck. I can't do this anymore.
I've really had such a fun time with most of you guys, and I want to send out a special thanks to everybody who's been awesome, anybody who's ass I kicked, and whoever kicked my ass!
Stang - You are a cool dude, weird, goofy and sarcastic just like me. I feel if we lived near each other we'd be best friends. Keep reppin' that not all Ken players are scrubs! I still have yet to fight you, but maybe I will one day in the future! ;)
Gambit - You're a cool dude, and the times we've fought were pretty awesome. You've got a good Ryu and Fei Long, and you definitely kicked my ass when we fought. Keep up the good work man.
Flushes - You play one mean Abel. I still look back on our shit talking as a highlight, though it was no longer a highlight when you handed me my ass on a silver plater. Asshole! :p
SpecialBuddy - You're the best player on the forums, hands down. Good luck at future tournaments. You have a skill to show the world, and I hope you do. I apologize about not being able to fight you, but I hope you can kick some other Guile's asses in the future!
Scooper - I don't care what you say, you're still the better Guile player. It was nice getting to know you a little better over the course of the last couple of weeks, and I really hope we keep in touch. I still can't thank you enough for helping me that one night, when I was having serious issues.
Jeffsekai - GET HYPE! Seriously, just bring the hype, wherever you go. Make getting food be hype!
I am typically not one for long and drawn out goodbyes or anything like that, but I felt I needed to post one here because I won't really be around the forums anymore, and I've bonded with a few of you over the course of the month or two that I have been here. You've all been awesome, and I really appreciate the maturity that was able to stay consistent, you know, since we're all like 20-somethings and shit, haha. I hope all of you keep training and strive to be better, as I know most of you have severely improved in the past several months. As for your personal lives, don't let your life pass you by. Since you're all young like me, don't be afraid to get out and live life. Fuck, drink, party, cry, contemplate, get pissed, be remorseful, mess up somehow, GET HYPE, cry, regret something, regret nothing and just live.
As for me, this is Napalm aka Faster Disaster aka Jason signing off, permanently. (All Guile-training and questions will be passed off to Scooper, since he's clearly better!)
Who knows, maybe I will see you all back around the time of Super Street Fighter IV? I won't hold any promises. ;)
- Napalm
Street Fighter IV
Game » consists of 9 releases. Released Jul 18, 2008
After nearly a decade in hiatus, Capcom's signature mainline fighting game series resurfaces with its fourth main installment, combining the traditional 2D gameplay with modern fully-3D graphics.
The End Of My Fighting Career (Goodbye)
Don't quite ya bastard. You were the first Guile I played that actually.....played. Take a break, get your priorities straight, then come back. Winter holiday's are coming up soon, play then. When I first got Live in June, I was a fucking addict. I still am I guess, but I do not play nearly as much as I did, like you it was some type of nerd obsession. Get your shit together, then start scrapping again.
Besides, my xbox is on its way to MS AGAIN, by the time your semester ends I will finally have my shit back, you will destroy me!
And hedgehog needs to beat me 1st to 10 if he wants that title.
And hedgehog needs to beat me 1st to 10 if he wants that title. "Ill only take that challenge in local play. Evo 2K10 its going down!
Stang: Scooter! Scooter! Come quickly!
(Scooter runs through fields to see Stang holding Napalm in his hands)
Scooter:...Napalm?
Napalm: Its (Coughs up blood)...its ok, Scooter. I'll be all right. You know me. Heh heh heh...
Scooter: Medic! Somebody get me a fucking medic!
Napalm: Shhh, Scooter...don't cry. You were always the nice guy...Pussy (Slight smile)
Stang: The hell is everybody? I need some first aid here!
Scooter:...You were always the better Guile...
Napalm: Stfu. You know you were. Stop being the nice guy. (Coughs up more blood) When in doubt, Scooter, Sonic Boom.
(Scooter turns away)
Napalm: And Stang...How do you do, Ken? (Puts his thumb up)
Stang: Napalm? Napalm? NAPALM!!!!!
(Curtains slowly close as Napalm closes his eyes and Comptine d'un autre ete l'apres midi plays)
I've resorted to only playing locally with my friends after having a major rage situation. What that topic doesn't say is that at a later date I had gotten really angry once again, and quite literally took the disk out of my Xbox and threw it at the wall.
Amazingly, the game still works. I just cannot use or play against Gen, Rose, or Sagat and as a result cannot do half the single player game modes since they commonly appear :P
" @Vinchenzo said:Dont take this man's advice, 119025 gamerscore= woah!? "" Or you could just stop playing fighting games. Fighting games make me pissed off the most out of every genre. Just find a new genre. "
his gamescore means nothing unless he has an "S" on SFIV
Maybe it's a sign that you should disconnect for a bit whenever you get really aggravated? Take a break, clear your head and hopefully we'll see you back for Super in 2010. :)
" I think I am unable to become angry when playing SFIV. Its one of few fighting games where I just feel like I learned something when I lose over and over. "If your losing over and over, and never winning, why be angry? you have nothing to lose.
I get angry because I should have won. Always.
