Confirmed just a bit ago. I like that they are spreading out characters across a ton of different past SF games for this. I'd assume a proper character trailer is coming soon. I can feel @hassun 's skin crawl right as I post this. ;)
Street Fighter V
Game » consists of 8 releases. Released Feb 16, 2016
The fifth numbered entry in Capcom's signature fighting game series revamps the game's mechanics yet again while using a new system for post-release content.
R. Mika confirmed for Street Fighter V
@demoskinos: Maybe if you had actually beaten me to posting this. :V
It's true I've never been much of an R Mika fan. I do like the tag stuff though. Just wish that of the Alpha girls we would have gotten Maki Genryusai instead.
#ButtStuff
P.S. I'd put this in the SFV forum if I were you.
@demoskinos: I always just add them to our general thread.

@hmoney001: Bah gawd.
@hmoney001: Sold!
That v-reversal is too sick and looks like we get another one-and-done V-Trigger. Fuck I have no nostalgia for the character but she looks so fun to play sorry Bipson and Vega gonna main Mika now I guess.
We Stone Cold now.
Between her V-Skill and V-Trigger she sounds like a super interesting grappler. Glad to see a non-core character since so much of the cast has been those to date. That leaves what, 3 more brand new characters and 3 returning?
@demoskinos: Yeah. Cammy.
R. Mika was the bane of my existence in Alpha 3. Her goddamn butt attack shout haunts my dreams. Still, I'm pretty excited to see another Alpha character. NEXT UP: SODOM.
I also realized what it is about the style of this game I like so much. They all look like action figures, or PVC statues.
R. Mika being in adds a lot more credibility to the leak from way back. I now have to assume that Karin will also be making a return.

Holy shit yes.
was bummed
I really hope you didn't do that on purpose.
So far I've yet to see anyone talking about the whole imitation tag-team thing she has going for some of her moves even though it looks really cool. Is that not a new aspect to her character for this game?
@neocalypso: I've mentioned it. She used to get outside props (like a whole wrestling ring) for some of her moves but I don't think she got a tag partner. At least I don't remember that being the case.
Her tag partner (named Nadeshiko) is not new though.
Holy fuck. She looks soooo sick. Oh, and the goddamn music. Fucking give whoever composed that a raise! I'm loving everything about this right now.
edit: D-d-did she slap her butt before doing her ultra (does it have a different name in SFV?) at 0:55? Guys, I found my main. Fuck everyone else.

Totally. Or almost kind of claymation thing, it's super cool and kinda sells me on the game as someone who's never really been into Street Fighter.
@babychoochoo: Critical Arts. Also if that is a command grab super, it has crazy range.
@starvinggamer: That character loyalty! I'm actually pretty interested to try a grappler since backing people into a corner is really fun and stupid.
@fredchuckdave: I've always been more of an archetype loyalist and up until now there were no real grapplers or zoners in SFV. UNTIL NOW.
Honestly the only way I can see a zoner working in SFV at this point is if their V-Skill is a projectile or something that generates more V-Meter if Ryu/Nash/Bison parry/absorb/reflect it. And I still think an amazing V-Trigger would be the ability to whiff cancel normals. Also give them a real DP. Ok maybe this is brokenly unfair now.
EDIT: Ok, I really don't understand the physics of her new heart leotard.
I never really felt like Mika fit in the Street Fighter Universe. I feel like she's a fine character, but she always seemed a little "Skullomania" for me.
I feel like Street Fighter characters are a *little* over the top ethnic stereotypes. I feel like when characters get too stylish, they no longer fit. Remy another good example of a character I think doesn't fit. Elena or Dudley I think definitely fit. Rolento no, Makoto yes.
It's maybe an arbitrary feeling.
Looks great. Super glad they are adding some more fun to the game (outside of Birdie's boogers - gross). Who will be next?! Most compelling speculation I have seen is for Oro, Alex, and Juri. Evil Ryu seems to be getting some attention too, but I would pick him last out of these four (just based on Capcom previously spreading out the roster choices across the history of SF* AND that they've said they are trying to tone down having clone-ish characters.
So Far (not counting Street Fighter 1) -
- From Street Fighter 2 series - 6 characters: Ryu, Ken, M. Bison, Cammy, Vega, Chun-Li
- From Street Fighter Alpha series - 3 characters: Nash, R. Mika, Birdie
- New character - 1 - Necalli
Juri would be a nice pick from the SF4 cast. Alex and/or Oro could be cool as a return from SF3 since they did not get to come back in SF4.
*- As a run down to see how they've distributed characters before- here is the final SF4's roster. This is based on first available to play on a fighting game, not based on guest appearances, storyline, final fight games, etc:
- From Street Fighter 2 series - 17 characters - All of them (Ryu, Ken, Sagat, technically from SF1 )
- From Street Fighter Alpha series - 9 characters - Gen, Rose, Sakura, Dan, Cody, Guy, Adon (SF1), Evil Ryu, Rolento
- From Street Fighter 3 - 7 characters - Dudley, Ibuki, Makoto, Yun, Yang, Hugo, Elena
- New for SF4 - 11 characters - Abel, El Fuerte, Viper, Rufus, Hakkan, Juri, Seth, Gouken, Oni, Poison (SFxT), Decapre
I feel like she's a fine character, but she always seemed a little "Skullomania" for me.
To the people on this site, that's going to make her sound even better
@thiago123: E.Ryu seems like a real bad idea. Only 16 characters and you waste a slot on a second Ryu that isn't even canonical? Internet bitching for days!
2 SF3 and 1 SF4 would be good to round-out the returning characters. Personally I'd like to see what a good version of Q looks like. Not sure I want Alex, mostly because I'd like to have an all-new grappler and having Mika (and sorta Birdie) already makes it likely we'll only see one more.
I feel like she's a fine character, but she always seemed a little "Skullomania" for me.
In her dreams.
@l1ghtn1n: Actually what if it's Ingrid and she's an AMAZING ZONER

Yeah, I get the claymation thing with Birdie especially.
@fredchuckdave: All signs are pointing towards Urien aren't they?
@l1ghtn1n: I think it could work if they give the zoner a way to zone while generating more V-Meter than a Ryu/Nash/Bison can by parrying/absorbing/reflecting and a V-Trigger that enhances zoning abilities even further.
