Fanboys are really upset with this game
Japan doesn't give a shit about Mortal Kombat and never will.
Also MK has way too many balance issues.
Of course Street Fighter only exists due North America and Europe at this point. 60% North America, 30% Europe, and 10% Asia and Japan:

No Japan, no Street Fighter. Sorry to break it to ya bud.@zoner: Nobody gives a shit about Japan, but how is that rellevant?

The game would be developed by Capcom though, who would care a bit more about the balance.
And yeah.. considering the main audience isn't Japan, I don't see how them not liking Mortal Kombat matters. Regardless, MK is still about a thousand times more relevant than Tekken in any part of the world. It's always been Street Fighters biggest rival, a cross over would make sense. How does throwing Tekken in there appeal to anyone?
King of Fighters and Tekken are much bigger rivals to SF than MK.
Japan is obviously relevant, for one the game is developed in Japan, and by far the best players live in Japan.
Fanboys are annoyed with SFxT for a number of reasons (the gem system and chain combos), nobody gives a shit its not SFxMK.
i think people are complaining more about how where gonna run tournaments with this gem system then about mortal kombat.
I have no interest in SF vs MK and I love both franchises. SF X Tekken, though, I am pretty psyched about. MK's biggest draw has always been the fatalities. The idea that it was a competent competitive fighter never even entered the discussion until the latest game came out and they started taking steps to get it prepped for competition in EVO. Street Fighter and Tekken have always appealed to a die hard group of fans that like them for their technical merits. Mostly, though, it's because SF and Tekken are the two biggest fighter franchises in Japan.
I've not heard any of that. There were people that said that MK and Street Fighter make sense but not that Tekken was complete garbage.
I like Tekken and MK.
People are really pissed about the idea of pay to win. By that i mean having to buy certain gems because they give you an edge on people. There is no problem with trying to help new people the problem is those new people wont learn the fundamentals that they need to play alot of other fighting games. They should have just done better tutorials and update the tutorial as people learn more things about the game.
if you payed any attention to the FGC you would know that most people are complaining about the GEM system than who is crossing over. I ahve no idea where you heard this

Tekken was relevant, but not anymore. KOF even more so.
You could say the same thing about every single 3D MK game

I learned a long time ago that "fanboys" don't exist. There are only trolls and nine-year-olds who don't know any better.
You are overselling the internet way too much here.

Tekken has always outsold MK in Europe. Nobody gives a shit about MK outside of America.
And Ryu having his head pulled off by Sub Zero is fucking dumb.

Miyazaki will make an anime starring Hulk Hogan and the Insane Clown Posse before SF x Mortal Kombat happens.
That might be the turning point to get me into Miyazaki films. So clearly, they need to make SF vs MK for this to become a reality.
Hey guys, just cause the games are made in Japan doesn't mean they need Japan to be made. If everyone in Japan except the developers of Street Fighter dropped dead, Street Fighter would still get made and sell extremely well. That's because Japan is tiny compared to the American and European markets. 127 million people live in Japan; 312 million in the US.

This. Who gives two shits about Mortal Kombat.
Most people are complaining because you can not turn of the gem system and the game will have no balance at all. That is why people are mad.
Really, the fanboys are actually upset with themselves.
But they'll notice once they grow out of puberty.
I think that people are mad about the gem thing and how there is a possibility of getting worked online or at a tournament because you didn't have the gem that allowed you to auto-block because that gem was a pre-order only bonus or something. Capcom better start explaining this system much faster and clearer than they have. This game's press has been people saying how cool it is and juggles into everything being fun and now when its getting closer to the end of the cycle Capcom is like, .....also there are gems that modify the game and you have to buy them and enter them and also some are pre-orders only BYE.
Sigh Fanboys, you just wanna pet them on the head, hold them close, and then kill them. Or is that just me?
Nobody is complaining about this, what fantasy parallel universe do you reside in? Must be like 1993 there.
Until the most recent Mortal Kombat, you'd be right.@Brodehouse said:

@lordofultima: such a pitty your not a mod anymore, i remember when the SF boards where patrolled with an iron fist (you get it like in tekken) and this shit got mopped up quickly.... :'(
