People saying they are intermediate because they played SFIV are silly, this is nothing like SFIV at all. I like that most characters actually have to time their jabs to make them combo, unlike SFIV where you can just mash 5 in a row as Balrog.

It makes the game harder to learn, how are you supposed to learn combos if in the trials the time you land the combo is by luck?

You get used to it eventually, at first I couldn't do Kazuya mist step combos, but now they're really easy.

Is there any renewed interest in this game with the new balance patch and characters coming out in a few weeks?

Intermediate. Am far from pro, and am not really aiming for it (and may never become one anyway), but might be considered as medium-good+ in this game. Grew up with Street Fighter, first the second game and then IV. Also got into Tekken when nr. 2 was in the arcades. SF seem to be the one with easiest moves and combos, while Tekken requires more advanced inputs. I mostly memorize the favorites among attacks, and a few chosen fav fighters rather than trying to know the whole rooster. ^_^
