Quite possibly the best beat 'em up ever made 1

[Editors note: pictures speak louder than words and video speaks louder than pictures. For that reason, I have compiled a video preview of one of the levels from Streets of Rage 2 which cycles briefly through each character, giving you some idea of their range of moves. I have also included some annotations of things I thought were worth pointing out.] Sometimes you can only really appreciate the good stuff when put against the bad. I have been playing Streets of Rage 2 sporadically throughout t...

An amazing video game, but a terrible first game to review.... 1

Forgive me for the 5 star rating. Lets face it, if you're reading this, you've already seen those stars there, so you already know what to expect. Mindless praise. But hear me out- I really didn't want this. This is my first review and my first desire is to create the impresion of myself as a highly critical games reviewer who isn't easily impressed and always desires more. I want to be seen as a reviewer that aknowledges that is no such thing as 'perfection' and succesfully overcomes nostalgia.T...

    Classic Side Scrolling Brawler 0

Streets of Rage 2 is one of those rare games that even if you pick it up years later (in my case, replaying it on the Sega Smash Pack for the Dreamcast) it is still a fantastically fun game despite its age.As with most 2D games there isn't too much going on here. You have a lot of punching, kicking, jumping, and random food collecting and that's pretty much it. This game and the other games in its class stand out because they are able to pack a lot of different situations into the action that ke...

Axel and Blaze join together with Skate and a professional wrestler named Max to storm Mr.X's island to save Adam. -summaryBack in 1991, Se...

Streets of Rage 2 - A great old school beat-‘em up game to revist 0

It’s been almost 20 years since Streets of Rage 2 was first released, back in 1992 for the Sega Genesis. Back then the graphics, game play and music were superb, but, for today’s standard it’s just not appealing enough to make an average gamer interested enough on this game. Back when it was first released Streets of Rage had an exciting mixture of game play, graphics and music. For the current console generation the graphics have been retouched, so that the game is playable on higher definit...

    Streets Of Rage 2 0

Streets Of Rage 2 developed by Sega and released in 1992 for the genesis is a very good 16-bit beat em up and will provide fun when playing solo or coop. The game has received multiple releases since then on the sega genesis collection for example, but the version I played for review was the playstation network version.Streets of Rage 2 does a great job of executing the beat em up genre. It is pretty standard for the genre. The gameplay features side scrolling action, with various enem...
