Overview
A sequel to Super Mario 64 was in the works, but was never released partially due to the Nintendo 64DD not being as successful as Nintendo had hoped. Shigeru Miyamoto stated in an interview in September 1997 that Luigi was playable in the game and that they were planning for simultaneous multiplayer. In Issue 104 of Nintendo Power, the magazine updated the game's development status by confirming Yoshi would be rideable in the game.
