Sure, these days have almost every game sporting the newfangled 3D, but way back when, everyone had to live with plain old 2D. 2D, or two dimensions, limit the game to scrolling backgrounds, but some games even now make use of this basic concept.
Albatoss is a flying enemy from Super Mario Bros 2. They often drop Bob-Ombs from their claws.

Anthropomorphism is the concept of an object, concept or character that has human qualities or traits, such as speech, a level of intelligence similar or higher than a human's and self consciousness. "Anthro" means "of human" and related to the concept of humanity.

A location or scenery that is reminiscent of fall. Autumnal settings involve trees shedding their leaves and usually feature yellows, browns and reds.

Banzai Bills are the Bullet Bills larger cousins. They advance slowly and can be defeated by a single jump attack.
Beezos are Shy Guys with insect-like wings mounted on their backs. They are armed with tridents and attacks by charging towards the player in a straight line.
Bloopers are squid-like creatures that are usually white. They are usually seen underwater and attack enemies by chasing them and trying to catch them.

Boo is a ghost-enemy in the Mario universe who pursue Mario until he looks in their direction. They earned their reputation for being "shy" this way. Don't turn your back on them!

Bosses are enemies that fight you at the end of a level or at a significant point in the story.
A boss fight is a culminating challenge that pits the player against one or more enemies representing a greater threat and/or difficulty than those previously faced. These scenarios typically feature unique antagonists.

Palette-swapping are sometimes used to denote the different strengths and abilities of your adversaries.
The act of bending at the knees from a standing position. Crouching is an essential part of many shooters and platformers, and can be used by players to stay behind cover or avoid incoming projectiles.
A trap designed to kill off victims by crushing them. Commonly found in sacred temples though industrial variations (like car crushers) exist.
When characters shed tears - often due to extreme sadness.
The concept of a helpless female character in desperate need of rescuing by the protagonist, in most cases from a villain, or from a form of impending doom.

One of the smartest mammals on the planet and star of the Ecco the Dolphin games, dolphins live in the ocean and can perform a variety of tricks. Dolphins also have a particular fondness for fish.
