The frog suit is definitely the best suit from the game. Hands down. No contest.

Yes, there IS a contest.  Unless the level contains lots of water, the Frog suit is a hindrance.  Of the 3 suits (Kuribo's Shoe is not a suit), Tanooki is the most useful.  Besides being able to fly, and the ability to turn invincible for a few seconds, the Tanooki suit can extinguish those fire jets on Iggy's ship and I think can kill Rotodiscs.

But my personal favorite suit was the Hammer Bros. Suit.  Immunity to fireballs when ducking, and you can kill Throwps, Boo Diddlies, Stretches, Dry Bones, and Hotfoots (Hotfeet?) with the hammers.

The Hammer Bros. suit was the best.

I judge the best suit based exlusively on rarity and ability to throw hammers.

Raccoon suit is way better and hammer bros', frog is just a pain except for the underwater lvls.

I like the frog suit, mainly for the ability to just swim under the boats.

Man, talk about bumming an ancient thread.

 While Kuribo's Shoe is, in my opinion, the coolest power-up in the game, I always thought it was considered an "item" and not a "suit," so to speak.  So, best item/power-up....yes.  Best suit...?  Not really sure if it meets the qualifications.
