Another level I made:
Simple Dimple
SXT-1KC-BCG
Game » consists of 4 releases. Released Jun 28, 2019
Man, this thread is on fire! So much good stuff already. I've just startet making all the stages for Castlevania 1 in Super Mario World style. So far it's pretty faithful to the original design but with some new enemy placements to make a better flow. So far i've made Stage 1 and 2. Stage 1 is based on my previous effort, Super Mario - Koopa Hunter, but with a few tweaks here and there. Just to make it more fun and a bit more challenging. I'll post all the course codes once i'm done.
King's Rush Returns: 6WM-NM7-T1G
This is a recreation of a Mario Maker 1 Level I made for my roommate to beat with a few new twists. The original caused my roommate to send me an expletive laden text on Sunday morning due to a few of the traps.
The level has a small amount of BS in the way of a misleading path, a hidden P-Bock (although it's pretty obvious what obstacle requires it, and it is located next to said obstacle), and a final leap of faith (don't go too high, don't go too low and you're fine). Not an insurmountable challenge and the World Record / First Clear AWAITS
Difficulty : 3/5
Cat Scratch Feevah: GPQ-BBD-P1H
A cat-themed level to mess with the SM3DW Tile Set. Not all that hard, just unforgiving. There is a single bell at the start that you need to hold on to at least till the 'boss fight'
Difficulty: 1.5/5
I updated the descriptions a bit to cut down on the unannounced BS. I picked up level making after watching GiantBomb's videos so I come to it with that slant...some tough spots, a few BS traps, but overall do-able. Would LOVE to see someone other than me and my roommate conquer King's Rush.
After feeling choice paralysis (so much new stuff) I finally made my first level. It's a pretty traditional Mario platforming stage although the goal was for the jumps to feel a little "off" compared to Nintendo. Distances aren't right and that sort of thing.

I made a couple remakes tonight for fun.
Remake of a classic Mario level - XVF-43D-LPG
Mega Man in Mario Maker - XVH-TR3-19G
I have made two courses if anyone wants to try. I think the second is the better level.
9KP-QQR-KKF : a level where you ride a dry bone shell through water and lava.
4S8-H5H-JXG : a shump
I made a new level. In the 3D world style. Again, no major bull....(hopefully). A couple of key puzzles, but should be signposted enough that it’s not silly.
“Mah Ree Oh”
WBR-7JJ-XGG
Slip-n-Slide Forest: JJK-HFC-1NG
While playing "80 Seconds in the Sky" by Dan, I had a lot of fun with the precise jumps into clear pipes. Hitting it perfectly just felt really good. So, I decided to try and make a speedrun level that used that mechanic. I think it's fairly challenging but not too extreme. Hope yall enjoy it.
VPC-B6W-2JG - Not too tricky bullet bill themed level. Trying to nail that Nintendo level feel, a fun challenge...hopefully
I made a new level called Cayenne Canyon:
NJL-0WG-1DG
I thought I made a medium difficulty level, but it’s harder than I anticipated. 4 out of 76 playthroughs were successful in beating it. It has lots of fire/fire based enemies and goes from platforming to a shmup section in the middle and a stealth section using the Dry Bones shell. It also has a clear condition of beating it as fire Mario and there are plenty of Fire Flowers in the level.
I had a lot of fun making this one. I think the theme is sound at least, and makers better than me could probably do a whole lot more with it.
88C-3SK-0NG
New to Super Mario Maker but not so new to level design. Here are the 2 levels I have had the time to create.
1. Van Mario: The Koopa The Hunter
ID: MBF-7YP-QHF
Puzzle Theme with a boss fight at the end. You must use the mechanics that you had to use throughout the level to beat the boss.
Edit: The Raccoon course is back up. I figured out a way to not break the immersion and natural flow of the level by applying doors to the end of each section. These doors take you back to the beginning to get another leaf without dying or restarting the level.
2. Raccoon In Space!!! (Expert) <<< Maybe super expert.
ID: B7V-CD6-BHG
Not for the faint of heart, this level is challenging but doable for sure. Advanced raccoon users only! Patience and practice to succeed. Only get 1 leaf at the beginning!!!
Hope you enjoy my levels, They may not be the most creative but they are well thought out. I did my best to balance challenge without making it seem unfair.
Just finished my first Mario Maker 2 course. I used to make courses in Mario Maker 1 so I have some experience.
A lot of the level is composed to traversing segments on those bouncy rings on tracks. I tried making the level really hard, but there are plenty of moments of rest. And a lot of dumb ways to die outside of the hard parts.
Aerobatic Acropolis
8Q8-4H3-5SF
I started playing some of the levels from this thread, did not get very far at all but already had a lot of fun. I guess I suck at Mario though. Still got a lot of enjoyment out of the levels I played, even though I didn't finish them yet.
@thegrumpskin: I really liked "Bowser Tower", though the moving seesaws in the beginning were weirdly finicky sometimes.
@fear_the_booboo: Also enjoyed the chaotic wiggler-bouncing madness of "Bouncin'"
@tonyblue87: And the idea and execution of "A Boy and his Bill" were also very exciting. Unfortunately my Bullet Bill manipulation skills are really lacking.
I also finally found some time for making a second level. It contains multiple random challenge rooms, which reminded me of a level in Croc - Legend of the Gobbos. So I named it after a different one, because my memory is apparently not great.
Hassle in the castle: JD3-5WF-N6G
Should be a about the same difficulty as the last one, if not a little easier because of powerups. Have fun!
Drumstick Dungeon
LKM-SKJ-H7G
3D World. Complete the four challenge rooms. The level saves your progress.
7G0-2KJ-MJF – I tried to make a level all about falling just right.
Trying to get down the idea of introducing an idea simply, then stepping up the difficulty a bit at a time. You'll probably die, but it's completely doable! I'd love to know what you think!
My Profile: 2Y6-3DB-8DF
I make traditional levels that are pretty fair with solid theming. I try to aim for around 20% completion rate give or take.
There's more to come down the line. First I'm doing more 3D world levels, then I plan on remaking a few of my favorite SMM1 stages. Here's a video of someone going for WR on my 4th stage if you want to see one of my stages in action, though it may be different from what you see if you play now since I delete reuploaded since the video was taken.

2W6-57K-JTG An Evening Stroll: Short and pretty easy (a bit harder if you wanna go fast), in Mario Bros. style.
This just might be the forum thread of the year, good job on the community.. there are some excellent levels in here.
X0G-KS3-OXG
A pleasant and simple level involving thwomps. Nothing hard, but I enjoyed making it and playing it. Thought about making it longer, but decided against it.
Hey y'all. Here's my first ever Mario Maker 2 stage. It's not that long but feel free to give it a try! My course code is LKW-4PQ-GCG Can't wait to try all y'alls creations out!
42C-54D-B0G: Please Don’t Go Down The Pipes. “A simple course. Just don’t go down the pipes. Trust me”
I wanted to create a pretty standard Mario level. There’s plenty of power ups, nothing is devoted to chance, and there’s no gotcha moments. My first SMM2 level was a hair harder than I intended and wanted something significantly easier. Hope y’all enjoy! (PS. I wouldn’t go down the pipes. You’ll probably have a better time if you don’t go down into the sub-world)
Tried this one but the code didn't work for me :(
G50-WX1-QXG - A doable (yet hopefully challenging) level involving On/Off Switches, Seesaws, and Snake Blocks, in a ghost house because it's scary or something.
Just finished this level. About halfway through I was thinking, "this is pretty easy but really well thought out." After finishing I would say that the whole level was really well planned and has a decent ramp up in challenge. The times I died weren't due to cheap surprises or any sort of trolling, it was pretty much just me screwing up. Solid level my dude.
Tried a few more random ones. Fast reviews:

Nice, very simple and short. It's fair because you build up the difficulty gradually and show the obstacles before you have to dive past them so you are not blind. Other than one troll (?) hidden block. I thought the goombas at the end didn't serve much purpose, though.

Nice, very easy level with a nice use of repeated elements. Felt like a traditional Nintendo level.

Nice, seems fast and fun. Was not able to get very far. May try again later.
@wollywoo: Whoops, I typed my code wrong: 42C-S4D-B0G
I've uploaded two courses and both are still showing 0 visits. They are pretty difficult and took a lot of effort to create and upload. I hope someone enjoys them. "Yuck" has a reference to an old MM1 level that Jeff made.
