    As most of you already know by now Dan "Dirty Dan" Ryckert, master-monster of Mario Maker level designs, decided to challenge the one and only Patrick "Scoops" Klepek with the worst nightmare of a level he could possible come up with. And so The Ryckoning was born. The result was terrifying, yet very intriguing.

    Gallons of tears, sweat, blood and more tears have been shed, but Patrick finally defeated the nightmarish stage during his forth stream on October 13.

    Now, during the first stream the chat let Patrick know that they were going to keep count on the number of attempts during his streams.

    I too decided to keep count. Not only on how many attempts and deaths, but also how he let Mario die. And since Dan so kindly put together a list of ingredients, and Patrick managed to bring them over, I decided to bake some pies. Let's have a taste shall we.

    I think you have the date wrong(it's in the future), but it's great to see just how terrible note blocks are.

    Cool pie charts. That note block one is the most interesting to me as those were 65% of his deaths.

    I love charts and graphs for silly things. Of course most of his deaths came from note blocks.

    Yeah, I thought a separate chart for note blocks would be good since Patrick really hates them. =D

    I see now though I made a big mistake with that. It should be deaths caused by those blocks and all other deaths. Not total deaths and deaths by note blocks. I'll edit that now.

    What is more interesting is how many deaths it took once he figured the puzzle out and compare it to dan's number in which he knew the path and he knew what was red herrings. Which is one of the reasons why dan's level is so bad (not difficult, bad) is because of the red herrings, the stage isn't hard because the puzzles were hard but they were misleading elements that had to be explored. Fatiguing the player isn't a great way to win, it just shows level design incompetence.

    @wholemeal: I think the whole point of the stage was to break Patrick, to make it as obtuse as possible. So that's the design, not a flaw. It was never meant to be a good level played by anyone else.

    Great, now Dan will have an easier time of picking ways to make Patrick suffer. (which is adding more music blocks and spikes)

    Doing this during his streams and watching his achives was actually the one thing that kept my mind relatively sane. ;)
