Super Mario World was the first game I ever owned. I got it when I was three, a doctor living across the street gave my brother and I this and a SNES for our birthdays (Which are in the same month, he's two years older than me). I loved playing it back then, and I still enjoy playing it now.
Super Mario World
Game » consists of 18 releases. Released Nov 21, 1990
One of the few launch titles of the SNES (and bundled with the system in North America and Europe), the fifth main game in the Super Mario series brings the Mario brothers into the mysterious Dinosaur Land. It marks the first appearance of Mario's dinosaur companions, known as Yoshi.
Was this anyone elses first video game?
It isn't the first game I ever played, tough the Mario games were amoungst the first I played. I only found out about Super Mario World when I became a 'hadcore gamer'. I don't find it as much fun as Super Mario Brothers 3, but it's certainly more technically impressive.
I didn't play this until it was ported to the GameBoy Advance. Really great Mario game. I might even consider it better then SMB3...
It sure was and my SNES and the game still work today I break it out every now and then and play it for old times sake
Hell, I might have to dig out my SNES and play through SMW one more time...
It wasn't my first game, but was the first that I actually owned. Came with my SNES way back in the day. Played it to death.
The first time I played Super Mario World is probably the most memorable moment since I started gaming. It just blew me away, we would play it over and over even after we beat it so many times, but it wasn't my first video game. I'm pretty sure my first video game was either Pong on the Atari or Super Mario Bros. on the NES, not sure. It's been so long.
