Do SNES games have save files? Like I wanted to buy one for Super Mario RPG, but I want to know if I can save my file.

Yeah JJOR64 is right. My friend's older brother used to play Super Mario RPG when I was younger, we used to watch, and I remember it having 4 save slots.

I know this because I own the actual cartridge for the game and also own it on my Wii.

Yep, Super Mario RPG will have a battery backed up save file.  I had an original Zelda cart's battery die within 2 years of usage, but other batteries last more than 10.  Hopefully your cart will still have a living battery.

Why did you buy it for Wii if you have the actual game?

I just bought a new NES recently.  But I can't play Duck Hunt because we don't have a CRT TV in our house anymore. :(

Did any of you guys play Gumshoe?  That game is CRAZY.

most games on snes have save files but some have that old password screen , some are even long and frustrating

heres a list of games i have with game saves

    1 super mario all stars

    2 super mario world

    3 donkey kong country

    4 donkey kong country 2

    5 super mariokart

    6 donkey kong country 3

    7 zelda alttp

    8 super mario rpg

9 stunt race fx -saves after each cup

10 super mario kart-once again saves after each cup automatically

games i have that do not - but have passwords

1 top gear- this one has a 10 letter password screen

2 -topgear 2 has a rather frustrating screen

3 top gear 3000 another frustrating password as in long

    4 mario is missing

    5 zombies ate my nieghbors

    6 ghoal patrol

7 pacman 2 pacmans new adventure

    8 pac attack

    9 tetris attack

and then theres ones that do not save do not have passwords you have to restart such examples

    1 the lion king

    2 toy story

    3 beethoven 2nd

    4 tom and jerry

    5 super starwars

    6 starfox

    7 no fear racing

, theres alot more i own most of them do not save

and depending on how long the original owners used the battery (each time you save) you may end up with a cart that dont save i had a copy of goldeneye 007 on the nintendo 64 that just could not save any more, it would make me restart every time
