with the leak that AE will be released before EVO (July 29-11) what should the tournament organizers do? On one hand it would be nice to see the newest version of the game, on the other hand people haven't had the same kind of time with AE. That lack of time could lead to Yun dominating the top bracket, as people have not had the time to properly pick him apart. It seams like a damned if you do, damned if you don't situation. What do you guy's think, what should EVO do?

It's a disservice if AE comes out to consoles before EVO, and isn't put in EVO. IMO they should replace Chocolate SSFIV even if AE comes out the day before EVO.

I'd be curious to see then if people will use new characters having less than a month to practice them.

This means that the "Arcade Edition" update for SSF4 must be released by then, or no Yun and Yang at EVO. The same goes for BB: Continuum Shift II, Marvel vs Capcom 3 characters, ect. Finally, Kratos will most likely be banned from Mortal Kombat.     

With AE out in arcades most of the top players have already gotten their hands on the game (sorry Wolfkrone). There have already been multiple AE tournaments in the US so there's no reason not to include it at EVO.

Anybody that is serious about SSF4 would have found some way to play AE already. Those are the same guys that would be in the top 32 anyway ala Daigo, JWong, Ricky O, Mike Ross, etc so having AE in wouldn't exactly stop them.

in time as in any time before evo, or do they have a cut off date that they have said? "

I thought they confirmed that AE wouldn't be at EVO months ago. Besides even when AE does come out in June thats still only a month...well almost 2 months until Evo starts. I don't think it will be at Evo. I could be wrong.

As a viewer I would like to see it played, if it had come out by then.

I thought I saw something that you could pick either version of the character (Super or AE) when selecting a character. Wouldn't that cause huge balance issues?  Is it going to be like HD Remix where you select what version you want to play before hand, or will you pick what version you want when you actually select the character?

@leroyrockwell: They said there will be AE only match searching available. So if you don't set it and run into some without AE then you will be playing regular SSF4. 

There is not going to be something like ST where you can pick two different versions of the character (in this case SSF4 or AE). The feature is only there so people who don't want to upgrade aren't fucked out of online play.
