How am I supposed to react to their stuff? I don't get it. I play Rufus. What do I do against wheel kick? What do I do against weird skinny fireballs? Vega's wall whatever?

" How am I supposed to react to their stuff? I don't get it."Don't always need to react if you can anticipate. Blanka's probably going to do rolls on wakeup so bait em out, I think you can punish a blocked roll with c.hp maybe or Big Bang Typhoon. Backdash or EX Messiah Kick works good against El Fuerte if he's pummling you on the ground, U2 works good here too. Have a look at some YouTube vids, there Rufus vids for every matchup out there for you to find.
PS. This should be in begginner thread although I don't blame you for creating a topic.

Can I punish Juri's divekick? It's so weird, atleast Rufus' divekick looks like it might make sense, but Juri floats in the air for a good few seconds, wtf?
Also, WHAT? I CAN PUNISH JURI'S BLOCKED WHEEL KICK?!?!?! I tried this but usually they just follow up with another wheel kick and I get hit.

@AURON570: You are FN Rufus, one of the best rush down characters in the game. Stop trying to block and punish when you can just pressure them instead.
Ha, so are the majority of the advanced Street Fighter communityfuckin' dense? Who's depending on Giantbomb for everything? Lol, tell me, what do I depend on Giantbomb for? I want to know what you consider everything! Sorry to hear about your infected dick.

Its not that outlandish to ask advice about a game on a gaming website in a section of the forum dedicated to that very game.
@TooWalrus: Having a pissing contest with someone named PhaggyBigNastyMcKill on the internet seems rather pointless to me. Anyways, a focus dash is when you use your EX Focus( medium punch and medium kick pressed at the same time) and then preform a dash( pressing either back twice or forwards twice). By doing this you can get hit once and keep going. For example, if Ryu throws a regular hadouken you start your EX Focus attack, let it hit you, then preform the dash. The hadouken does no damage( assuming you don't get while your life bar is filling back up) and you get revenge meter( your ultimate bar). A focus cancel is kinda the same idea, except it takes place after you've done a move. So lets say you're Ryu and you're revenge meter is full. If you connect with any shoryuken, you can press both medium punch and kick and the animation for the shoryuken will be cut short, so you're opponet will fly into the air but Ryu will not. From here if you focus dash you'll be in control of Ryu while your opponet is still in the air, meaning you can throw your ultimate and there's nothing they can do about it, as opposed to landing on the ground at about the same time they would. You cannot focus cancel every move(so you have to play around in training to see what works or look at a combo guide), and focus cancels use two bars of your super meter, so they need to well placed or else they won't be useful. Hope this helps.
For Juri
- dive kick --> block then poke and punish
- short kick pinwheel --> block
- medium, high and EX pinwheel --> block then punish
- skinny fireballs --> block the low one, counter the mid one if you have a projectile or block if you don't have one. but basically when you see juri set her fireball, don't jump coz it's most likely a high fireball. if you're a character like dudley or makoto, when you sense juri's about to set the fireball use the quick long range attacks like dudley's machine gun blow or makoto's hayate (preferably the EX ones).
For Vega
- wall dive --> absorb hit with focus attack then release the focus attack to deal damage and stun vega or focus attack then dash out
For Fuerte
- the annoying running then attacking moves --> if you have a quick anti-air, use that. if not, focus attack then dash out.
And since you use Rufus, be careful with rushing Juri since her EX pinwheel can pretty much mess you up so always be aware of your opponent's EX meter. Against Vega and Fuerte, just rush them, Rufus is a rush character with an arsenal of powerful moves :) Hope this helps!
If you're trying to absorb someone's fireball for instance you will do a FADC. Hold focus attack (FA) to absorb the fireball and then dash cancel (DC) to stop yourself just releasing the Focus Attack and looking like a peanut. This technique costs no super (or EX) meter but you will still take the damage from the fireball, that damage is only temporary though so if you don't get hit for a couple seconds you'll get that health back.
An EX FADC is when you're using the FADC to cancel the last part of an animation (Like you said, you do a shoryuken and EX FADC the last half of the move so that you are underneath your flying opponent ready to do another move, like an Ultra (or Ultimate), an EX Fireball or even another Shoryuken.
Also, if people don't wanna help then bugger off. You make the rest of our community look like dicks. Even though we are I would prefer to hide that fact.
Vega and Blanka are my Kryptonite, no matter what character I'm using. Especially when I'm playing a character that can't punish Blanka Balls I just throw a fit. But I guess that is my fault for playing that character and not picking a shoto/counter.

I usually annoy Blanka players as much as I can because I hate Blanka. (I play as Dhalsim)" Vega and Blanka are my Kryptonite, no matter what character I'm using. Problem unless I play against a character a lot online then I don't know how to fight against them properly.
I have a better chance if I've used the character which is why I don't have a problem with El Fuerte as Guile.
Gen is just a bitch

@Heartbreak: You haven't fought a good El Fuerte as Guile yet, because there is definitely a lot of solid players that bait everything and take advantage of Guile's positions. Also, Gen is a pain in the ass. Get used to blocking on the other side if he takes to the air, and if he attempts his small jump thingy, hit him with s.MK or s.MP. These will both stuff that move clean, unless he's longer than half screen away, in which it will trade.

pretty funny, the other day I went blanka since i lose alot anyways and won 4 rounds straight pretty much just doing HP Ball, spam electricity and throw. But then I ran into people that actually knew how to punish, so I guess I just got lucky. It was fun using blanka for those few rounds (landing ultra 1 made me laugh everytime), but I just CANNOT do down-up charge moves reliably, and i haven't come up with a reliable way of getting out the right version of mash moves on a regular ps3 controller.
