well i'm fairly new to SF and SF4 was my first real go at it. and i picked up akuma and really liked him so i stuck with him and feel that i'm pretty good at him. but i haven't seen any other Akumas at all online so i was wondering if there was a general " he's bad" kinda feel around him. and is there somebody else i should be using instead?

Akuma is high tier, high risk and high reward. He is not easy to use, one fuck up and you are dead.

Akuma is a really good character, but you have to be on point CONSTANTLY. Mainly the reason I don't play him because I still make really stupid mistakes and I don't like eating a combo that takes away half my health.

Oh god ... where is Lordofultima ?

Sadly from my experience I have gone up against some really good Akuma players. They keep me zoned for most of the fight with that damn diagonal fireball.

He eats people's souls.

He still gives me grievance to this day, but when you're winning with Akuma you are really beating the crap out of them. That's the plus side.

He's paper thin, but in the hands of the right player, Akuma is fucking DEADLY!

His low stamina is a big disadvantage in this game, where a lucky level 2 focus attack into full ultra can do a shit ton of damage.

Yeah, I tried Akuma, and I didnt do well, but Im learning so.....ANd btw, lordofultima has some of the best damn videos on Akuma out there...definately give em a look

In bad hands Akuma is weak. Very weak. In good hands he's one of the most versatile and strongest characters in the game.

I play Akuma every so often, not very good with him, but i've gotten a few runs where no one can compete with me, once you figure out Akuma's moveset and do some practice with him you can stomp on people pretty easilly. 

Akuma is one of the best, if not THE BEST character in the game.

As Rufus I still haven't lost to an Akuma in ranked.  Get worked over by some of my buds though.

Akuma is bad do not play him

Akuma is probably my favorite Shoto (besides Cowboy Ken of course...)  His second ultra is pretty terrible and his health sucks but really, in raw damage output he's one of the better characters. At least he's not Seth.

i main him and he got me my 3 wins in a row trophy and my first and very humiliating perfect online against a pink ibuki

Akuma is my favorite shoto in the series. Ex air fireballs can wreck shit.

I was more referring to the part where Seth has paper thin defences and not especially high damage either. But sure, he's an asshole. "
