So I played about two hours of Super Street Fighter 4 today (in stores now). I do not understand why people think the online is as good as they say it is. I played 20 matches and here's the character count: 3 Ibukis, 4 Maktos, 3 Dudleys, 2 Juris and 8 Ryus and Kens. I beat or came close to beating all the new characters like Juri and Ibuki, you can safely say that they were learning the new characters. With all the new characters in the game you'd imagine that people would try the new characters rather than stick with their Shotos (I play Sakura so I'm not hatin' on Shoto). I don't expect to play any Dee Jays and T.Hawks in the near future, fuck those guys.

Please, Find a new character.
Meh, people are apt to revert to their goto's when they are faced with a mounting wall of losses. Chances are that many of these people tried out other characters, got their asses kicked so they said "Screw it, I'm going back to playing soandso so I actually stand a chance against everyone else doing the same".
" @Belonpopo: [...] The spiral arrow is realy easy to punish if you block it. "
What he said. I was never a Cammy player so I thought I'd give it a whirl rather than sticking with shotos or Sagat, as I normally do. I find I get mauled pretty quickly if I spam spiral arrows against anyone with a clue (particularly Guiles).
What's wrong with sticking with what you're good and you like? Of, as Jared put in another thread, rather learning the new match-ups then learning a whole new character?
lol, is there anything you can do in Street Fighter that you won't get bitched out by someone for doing?
I haven't actually played IV at all." @ProfessorEss said:

I always think about giving it a go but then I see how little fun everyone seems to be having as decide to pass. :P
"I don't expect to play any Dee Jays and T.Hawks in the near future, fuck those guys. "I'm currently C-Ranking it with T.Hawk, having somewhere around 1,350 BP. I think I may even just keep going with him... even though I feel dirty playing a grappler (especially when I get lazy and start mashing SPD).
I dunno, I think playing any character you want to is fine. I don't harp on people for using what they like or make excuses for losing against a bad match-up. It's all in the name of fun anyway, right? :)

i usually am zangief but have taken a liking to Adon anyone else use Adon ive yet to see someone else as him
PROTIP: Every Juri online loves wake-up EX Pinwheel. They write it love letters and put them under their pillows at night.
Throw beats EX Pinwheel. So get throwin'.
While I don't agree with a lot of the OP's opinions (I hate Cammy to, but not for gameplay related reasons. I'm pretty sure she's still cross-eyed in Super, too), I do agree with the sentiment. It's depressing that as soon as the game came out, next thing I knew there were nothing but Flowchart Kens. I'm pretty sure we all anticipated this but still ... I wonder why they even bothered to buy the new game. If you want to play Ken, hey, that's awesome. But I don't know why anyone would pay $40 bucks to mash DPMFP all over again.

"Yeah for sure i like the comment that ken says admitting to the flow char something like "as easy to follow as a flowchart" im trying to get good with adon and guy right now and i dont mind cody
also throws are cheap. I got your back man.
Just breaking em here. I kind of wish as well that there was an "all new characters online mode." Like they do with shooters when a new map pack is released [i.e. like Halo] in this mode you only play against the Super SF4 characters. I think that might be a cool way to integrate all the new characters and learn the new matchups, and hell you could just throw some achievements at that particualr mode and it would get filled up.
BUT it is important to also see that even the old characters are new. New damage, new links, new ultras, new properties for alot of stuff. I have actually been playing guile and Akuma a bunch because of some of their tweaks.
" @el33tcapitan: Why I hate Cammy, not you. 1. Most people play a cheap ass Cammy game 2. SPIRAL OUT,SPIRAL OUT, SPIRAL OUT,SPIRAL OUT!!!!!!1 3. Fuck Cammy. "
lmao! I love going against those in mirror matches. SOOO easy to beat!
"I don't expect to play any Dee Jays and T.Hawks in the near future, fuck those guys. "Sad face... T_T
I guess people are sticking with their shoto characters so they can get a better feel of the game based on the balancing made for Super. And of course, there's also the new Ultras for all characters so maybe they're trying those out as well.
I still play the shoto characters, but usually in endless battles where it was getting serious with the matches lol! Regularly, I play the new characters first and if I want to boost up my morale & get a break from learning the new characters, I use the old ones that I know hehe! :)
You have to realize that this game is new, even for our mains. Every matchup has changed in some way. I will pick Ken the vast majority of the time, it is the only way I can become familiar with the changes. If that is not cool with the person playing with me, tough shit! Find another game.
I will continue to try and play Guile, get irritated from losing to flowcharts because I screwed up move executions because of said irritation, switch to Akuma, win a couple times, regain my confidence, switch back to Guile, get dominated, lose confidence, switch to Akuma, win a few times... It's a vicious cycle.
Though I do switch it up and play as Sagat. You don't feel like you're cheating when you play Sagat because he doesn't seem to be as much of a tank now.
