I have been playing through vesperia and have really been enjoying the story and characters even if some are predictable. And seeing as xillia is about to be on sale tomorrow, I am curious if the story and characters are as good. Thanks for the help.

It is a matter of taste. For example I thought the Xillia characters were a bit more interesting. But Xillia is in terms of storytelling much closer to Vesperia then lets say Graces. So if you like Vesperia you mostly will like Xillia as well. Especially for 10$ it should be no question at all. Just buy it.

Also you will be ready for the even better Xillia 2^^

@meteor_vii: Xillia has very token anime character stereotypes for sure but what it does with some of them is a little more interesting than a lot of other games that hit the same cliches. I really enjoyed it in fact it made my top 10 for last year. At $10 you really can't go wrong.
