Tengen was a subdivision of Atari (Company), developing home console parts of Atari (Company) games as well as games by other publishers, such as SEGAor Namco. Tengen released its games without a license by Nintendo (Company) and faced lawsuits for doing so. When Time Warnerbought Atari Games (Company) in 1993, Tengen was shut down.
