Any other Bombers out there obsessed with getting 100% of the roads driven?

I just managed to finally hit it, finishing up on Hawaii area 3. Now for wrecks and photos I guess?

I just 100%-ed all of Ibiza. Pixel hunting for gray roads is a pain in the ass, but when you're at 98-99% by just playing the game it's really hard not to want to get the last percent!

When I played the first game I'd pop on a podcast and just go road hunting all the time.  It was just so... nice.

Test Drive Unlimited is my designated cruising simulator so this would be piss easy for me. I've driven the perimeter of Hawaii more times then I can count. Just turn off the interface and the radio, crank up the car volume and just drive...

@Murtaug:  You are not alone in trying to get 100% completion, or get all the wrecks.

There are so many ways in which to win free cars, some of them require a lot of effort, but for some reason the effort required to win a Beetle with a nosebleed inducing top speed of just over 70mph or a 2CV are worth it, just for the trophy value of the cars you win. I now only need 2 out of 60 wrecks and have got 4 of the 6 cars. I hope I will find them as I finish 'colouring' the map in Hawaii. In Ibiza I have 99% complete, so like you did, I'm going to have to zoom in to my map to find the grey pixels and this gets harder in Hawaii where there are so many roads hidden under other roads and in highly concentrated sections. I think I am about 60% to 65% complete in Hawaii.

With the photographs I have been bookmarking sites as I find them and then deleting the bookmarks when I take the shot, but it's not easy to find them, even after unlocking the hologram signs as some of the sites are not on the road, when I have 100% or very close I will have to take a close look at the outstanding shots to see if I can work out where they are. Some of the locations I've found require certain cars but I haven't got enough cash to buy them all just yet, though I have found it is not too hard to win cash in the casino, I have won 151,000 with my best win at poker on a pair of 9's and with 4 of the players going all in! But despite spend well over 4 hours on the slots I still haven't won the R8 V10, but have easily won over 100,000 trying to do so.

I am also trying to win chases so I can get the Police Dodge Viper and the Mercedes CLK63 AMG Black Edition for winning 8 times in a row as an outlaw (which is not easy!).

After looking at what I've just typed, I would say no, you're not being obsessive, but maybe I am, but I'm having fun with it.  It sounds like you are too.

@Magicallystoopid:  Did much of that myself. I have over 160 hours into the game and I think I have heard the in game sound for all of twenty minutes.

@TheKeyboardDemon: Doing much the same, I have all wrecks and a lot of the photographs, mainly just ones that require specific cars I am missing. I spent a lot of time in the casino, and not nearly enough just doing championships, so my car collection is lagging. Slots tip: The one on the left wall of the entrance (High Life?) if you crank the lines you play to 9 and just keep at it you will always walk away with more than you came with. I went in with around a grand and walked away with over a hundred grand in one sitting. I have never left those machines with less than I started with.

I need to go back to the game, but as I said above, I have over 160 hours in and I just burnt out. Like the original game though I am sure it will have me coming back over and over again.

@TheKeyboardDemon:  Regarding the 8 getaways in a row, easy as pie once you know how, simply find a nice long straight road, get a 4WD car with good grip/acceleration. Get the peelers after you then start reversing in the hard shoulder, all the cops will drive along by the front of your car, but won't crash into or be able to EMP you.

Now and then there will be suicide cops coming towards you, but they will stick to the road, hence driving in the hard shoulder, most will just drive past you unless they swerve to avoid civvies or lose control.. just go off road if they come at you

@RandomHero666:  I have this now. I found that by using a road with a grass verge in the middle splitting north/south or east/west traffic was the best way to do this. As the Police come towards you just cross the verge and go to the other side. Hopping onto the grass seems to confuse the Police and they can't target EMPs or work out how to catch you! The problem I have now is that I can't seem to get into chases with other players and I really want to win the Doge Viper Police car. I have 22 cars and about half of them were cars that I won so I just want more free cars!

I now have Hawaii 1 & 2 at 100%. w00t!!! I'll probly spend some time in Ibiza looking for those grey pixels, I found that once I found 1 in Hawaii 2 it was easier to get the others, particularly when one bit was a road that was 8 miles long.

    Aaaarrrrggghhhhhhh.......

There has to be a better way to find those missing pixels, I've spent so much time scanning the map for missing pixels and I still have 4 out of 6 areas on 99%. I have at least managed to get all of Ibiza's photographs which incidently meant I had to buy a $266k in order to get $50k for completing the set! I'm just glad I didn't find out what I might win before I did that. I'll try and the Hawaii pics next.
