I played Tetris worlds, and never actually noticed that it was broken. That probably confirms what I've believed for a while now - I was a total idiot when I was a kid.
A: they've become way more confident in their positions as journalists/community worshipped gods, so they tend to raise their voices and say crazy stuff. B: They are just generally better in front of a camera and know how to hold peoples attention just by speaking.
Also, they sorta had big brother looking down their shoulder when they were at gamespot, so maybe they were more timid?
I've always hated this about the new commercial Tetris releases. Especially Tetris DS and its encouragement for you to "T-Spin" a piece with a little toast notification. The game is far too easy.
I'd say the last definitive Tetris was the GB version, hands down.
