As for the question, obviously Binding of Isaac needed more poop. That's why they keep adding tot he game. More poop. And it keeps getting better!

yes, but there's a lot of artistic choices in that game. what's with the preoccupation with cleft palates?

@mellotronrules: Bad guys in games being represented with cleft palates always makes me think of this article.

The art style and theming of the game has always been very offputting so yeah.

The game is one of my all-time favs, but that cleft palate shit was always really fucked up to me (and not in the way McMillen seems to think it should, more like "What the fuck, man?"). The art in general is the lowest part for me...and the story is pretty weird and fucked up in a lot of edgelord ways. Jeez, why do I like this game so much again?

Yeah the game is disgusting to look at, but that's kind of the point I think.

It's weird how you become desensitized to the poop in this game. When the Afterbirth expansion came out, one of the bullet points on the list of features was "More poop!" And my reaction was, "Geez, was anyone pining for that?"

Now, in the Repentance expansion, there's a player character who is stuffed full of poop, whose primary attack is spitting poop, whose secondary attack is using pieces of poop he collects to power a suite of specialized poop attacks. And my reaction was a methodical, "Okay, let's see how this character plays."

@bdkmat: Same, I don't even register the theme as being in any way offensive or puerile anymore, it's one of those games I've played so much that it just all seems abstracted and normal.

Keep poop out of games.

The whole aesthetic of this game turned me off of it from day 1.

ive read people saying how much fun this game is, and so i played it for a little bit, but i cant get past the art style. and the poop.

I've put well over 2000 hours into these games and honestly I don't even recognize it at all as gross.
