    Overview

The Blue Flamingo is a vertical-scrolling shoot'em up developed and published by Might and Delight for the PC. The game is set up around a competition, where pilots take turns flying a treacherous track filled with enemies, in order to score the highest and take home glory. The player is the pilot of The Blue Flamingo and is tasked with scoring the most points they can in the competition. There is a unique economy to the game where a player can spend their score on upgrades for The Blue Flamingo but at the cost of those points.

    Development

The Blue Flamingo was entirely crafted by hand by Might and Delight with help from a set designer/model maker. A 32 foot model was specifically made for the game along with countless other props and models. The explosions in the game are actual firecrackers and other pyrotechnics that were filmed and photographed and then turned into sprites.
