The Culling 2 was a multiplayer-focused third-person survival action game developed and published digitally by Xaviant for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC (via Steam) on July 10, 2018. It was later removed from all online marketplaces and discontinued on July 18, 2018.
The sequel to the 2017 game The Culling, The Culling 2 expanded on the dystopian futuristic game show setting and revamped the original's "battle royale" gameplay (making it more like PLAYERUNKNOWN'S BATTLEGROUNDS and H1Z1).
Many gameplay mechanics from the original game were removed (including first-person combat, the "FUNC" crafting system, emphasis on rudimentary melee combat, and use of traps) and the game featured a larger arena (with a larger player count for up to 50 players).
Due to the lackluster player count during the game's quiet launch and its similarities with other popular "battle royale" games, it was removed from all online marketplaces one week after its launch (with further development going towards the original).
