i lost my oblivion disk and i want to borrow my friends GOTY edition, but will my save file on 360 work with the game of the year disk?

It should.  It's the same Oblivion just with the added content included on it

I was thinking about the same question, I'm not sure how the new content will work but if my character could be used in the expansion I would be happy. I just finished Oblivion, I wanna play the new content, I'll try to get the GOTY edition.

Ok, this thread popped out of nowhere, but, yeah, the save file for the original Oblivion game disc would work just fine. All the GOTY edition is two discs: the original and a second disc that has all the content that gets transferred over to the HDD. You can't play from that 2nd disc, basically. So, saves will work just fine.

Man, I am currently on my second play through with Oblivion, so this thread is legitimate, no matter its age, lol.  I still haven't played the Shivering Isles add-on!  I really need to get on that.

Now it is a real old thread, but Google sent me to this. I bought Oblivion years ago for Xbox 360 and thankfully to Microsoft I can install and play it one my Xbox One with my old savefiles via cloud. Now I want to buy the GotY Version of the game and don't know if my savefiles will be compatible with it on the Xbox One. Did anyone tested it?
