... is the player character from Oblivion!

Think about it. At the end of the Shivering Isles you replace the prince of madness. During the conversation between Sheogorath and Pelagius the Mad he says this.

"You are the best Septim that's ever ruled. Well, except for that Martin fellow, but he turned into a dragon god, and that's hardly sporting...You know, I was there for that whole sordid affair. Marvelous times! Butterflies, blood, a Fox and severed head... Oh, and the cheese! To die for."

The Original Sheogorath wasn't there during the end of the main story in Oblivion, but the player was! The fox refers to the gray fox and the severed head refers to the Dark Brotherhood.

Also accoding to the Elder Scrolls wiki, in the Shivering Isles, Sheogorath says to the player, "I can see it in your face... mostly in your eyes. I may take those from you when all of this is over." In Skyrim, Sheogorath is blind.

My female Redguard sure has changed in the last 200 years.

I thought this was pretty obvious. Since you replaced the old dude after all. And the realm of madness has a strange way of bending things to a shape that it prefers. Doesn't seem out of the realm of possibility for the madness to shape the player back into a recognizable Sheogorath.

It's much less mind-blowing than the character depictions in the new Old Republic novel Revan. I'm not going into detail, but they very clearly depict two player-created characters from KOTOR 1 & 2 that aren't anything like the ones I made.

It could be the Champion, or it could not be. Perhaps Sheogorath returned and threw your old character out, or maybe turned him into cheese. Perhaps Haskill was the real Sheogorath. Maybe the whole Jygallag business was a farce created by the Mad God for his own enjoyment. Everything goes with Sheogorath.

Why the hell not? That expansion was one of the best, if not the best, part of Oblivion.

I played Oblivion so much that I eventually got tired of it. I downloaded Shivering Isles months after it was release and decided that it was time to move on after playing for an hour or so. Playing too much of a game can wear you out.

Yeah, I can see that. I'm a little burned out on Skyrim to be completely honest (though I still play the hell out of it).

Yeah, I thought this was pretty obvious. Also works out just fine seeing as how I made an imperial male for Oblivion. Still, I'm not sure how I feel about my champion from Oblivion going completely CRAZY. Then again I did force him to complete every single quest including collecting 100 Nirnroot, as well as collecting 1 of every item in Oblivion, so that might have done it.

Technically the champion was an Imperial, canon wise, so it makes sense that the champion is Sheogorath. I actually thought so while playing it since he mentions specific events like he was there. That's really cool.

You know Sheogorath can't actually be blind, right? The person in that picture is merely and aspect of himself he uses to communicate with people. All the daedric princes ARE their realms and any people you see in them are just projections of that/

Thats a good catch. I came to the same conclusion as well when Ii stumbled into this quest. it makes sense that Sheogorath is your player character given what happens and its cool that that is cannon.

Really? I already hated Oblivion, and Shivering Isles was what made me stop playing it outright. = /
