I just started my new character and wanted to focus on being a Vampire in it. My first playthrough i was a werewolf and got every totem. I rarely turned into one during combat though the most useful thing was the resistance to poison and illnesses. I recently just turned into a Vampire and just got a taste of the weakness. Snow Bears are the worse as a low lvl player well i killed one and my magic and stamina and even health dont even regenerate then i realized cuz it was daytime. Idk how the werewolf perk tree or new type of Vampire will be or play like but what was the choice of many of you. It seems Werewolf was the most useful as it had more pros than cons.

I believe the only con for being a werewolf was that you wouldn't get any resting bonuses, which didn't matter to me since I never slept in a bed. Never looked into becoming a vampire. How does one do that?

@MostlyBearded: just basically get hit by one. especially when they use their Vampire Drain power. Once it says you got infected dont cure it or get any blessings for 3 days then after that your a vamp. There are different lvls of being a vamp depending on if you feed or not.

@briangodsoe: @Mjdemon: Thanks for the info. I'll look into becoming an orcish denizen of the night.

Question about vampirism: if you use the Namira's ring that lets you feed on dead bodies, does that count for sating your bloodlust as a vampire as well?

I guess I prefer vampirism out of the two since it's the only one that really has a noticeable impact. I still never use my powers, just like when I was a werewolf. I like the game telling me I need to feed every few days since there's no regular hunger mechanic for normal folks. Better for role-playing.

I haven't played as a vampire but being a werewolf is really useful especially when turning into a werewolf allows you to kill without accumulating any bounty. For most of the brotherhood missions I would find a secluded spot turn into a werewolf kill the target as fast as possible and get the hell out of there. The only problem was that I couldn't heal but the werewolf shout made up for that.

I decided to become a werewolf because I don't mind missing out on the rest bonus.
