Hey there, I'm just properly getting into enchantment now and there are a few fortifications that I would like to be able to put onto other pieces of armour/weapons etc. However when I come to disenchant them to learn the stuff the items aren't in the menu. The items I'm thinking of are the thieves guild good etc. Is it just that you can't disenchant these or that my skill is not high enough yet? I've got about 40 skill I think.

    Any help would be appreciated,

    thanks

Maybe because they are "Unique" items, or it could be you level. Try getting to level 50, see if that makes a difference.

I would also like some clearer defining of the rules for this. There's a lot of stuff I've been saving because I just want the enchantment that's bound to them, but still can't disenchant them.

I believe only items with one enchantment, that can be found on other items, that are not legendary can be disenchanted. IE Wuthraad cannot be disenchanted because it's both Legendary and also has an enchantment that does not exist on other items.

Uniques can't be disenchanted. That's all.

Uniques cant be disenchanted. And you can't disenchant stuff you already disenchanted. Which is a very common problem with the way Skyrim decides to present its UI. Gimme "RPG of the 90s" interface from Morrowind.

    Anything Unique can't be disenchanted.

Has anyone found the paralysis enchantment on anything yet? I really want to get my hands on it.

Pretty sure it's in my enchantments list, but I had amassed A LOT of enchantments before I ever used any so I'm clueless as to where they came from.

Yeah i did, but it's pretty rare. Also banishment is a bitch to find. I found an elven axe enchanted with it in Solitude i think it cost 7k but it was well worth it because i can now sell my iron daggers for 700-800 a piece.

Yeah I've found an enchantment that fortifies barter. The actual effect makes prices lower by x%.

@Xeiphyer yes, found it on a random weapon. Only seen it once but all my weapons have it now and it's extremely useful.

If you have it on a quick weapon with a 1 second time on the effect it interrupts pretty much anything any enemies try and therefore makes spellcasters a lot easier to deal with.

Does it make the daggers worth more than if you enchant with Absorb Health? I just came across the banishing enchantment tonight, haven't bothered to check it yet.

So I assume the uniques are just the ones that have enchantments, but aren't glowing? Also someone said you can't disenchant items with combined enchantments, but I've definitely done that with one of those Robes of Minor Destruction, which give 12% Destruction bonus, along with 50% magicka regen bonus. When you disenchant them, you get that enchantment as a single whole enchantment, that you can then put on whatever item.

I haven't found a single item with the Paralyze enchantment yet and I'm level 49. Where can I find one?

I wish I could enchant my own staves, too. There'll probably be a mod for that before too long, I guess.

Well if you enchant the daggers with absorb health i think they'll be worth around 300-400, if you enchant it with banishment they'll be worth 1800. Since i haven't invested into speech, I can only sell the banishment daggers for 700-800, like i mentioned. But yeah, if you can buy that banishment enchantment, do it and be rich.

For what it's worth, I've seen a disproportionate number of rare enchantments on items sold by civil war encampment quartermasters.
