Aasimar is a half-human, half-celestial race in D&D.
The systems in these games are governed by rules from the pen-and-paper RPG Advanced Dungeons & Dragons. There have been many turn-based and action RPGs that have utilized parts of the AD&D rule set.

Elves are a race found in a lot of games based on a fantasy setting. They are recognizable by their elongated ears and often live much longer than humans. Some are even immortal. There are many variations of Elves.

Foreshadowing is a plot device that allows the creators to leave subtle (or not-so-subtle) hints about future events in the game.
Gnomes are a race of mythological creatures, which are usually much smaller versions of humans.
