One Small step for Hobbit kind One Giant leap on the Gamecube.
How can you take a universe as big as middle earth and turn it into a game, easy make sure your faithful to the base material and make sure you have respect and passion for not only the lore of middle earth but also it's fans who are all waiting patiently for a new game set in their favorite world.
Story- Although the development team couldn't follow the massive book page by page they did try to make it as accurate as possible and were actually able to create some tense moments i.e Smog's lair.
Graphics- Special attention was given to the atmosphere around the world. From shadows to vast mountains to the blue shine from your sword great detail was given.
Control- Slippery at best although not a huge problem i found that sometimes the camera would either not catch up to me or when close to walls would spiral to a view that wouldn't be helpful. The button layout is great though and with little issues here and there but you won't mind too much.
Sound- With music that sounds like it came from the shire it makes you even more involved in the game each stage has a great array of sounds from whispering winds to crashing boulders you'll marvel at how much detail went into the sounds.
Replay- Once the game is beaten there isn't much reason to go back which is sad because the game is such a rich experience at first that going back again with a few new incentives would have been a great move to do.
Final Word- If you can find this game at a yard sale or your local game shop i say pick it up and enjoy with over 10 hours of game play and plenty to do you will have your money's worst.
