Hm, that's neat, I think. I'm not sure how I feel about these re-releases from the 360/PS3 era. I mean, I'm glad some great games (oddly both this and Tomb Raider would be in my top five games of last year) are being kept available, scarcity and access is a weird problem in this industry. But, there is a cynical voice in me that feels like this is an unfortunate exploitation of the lack of backwards compatibility on these new systems. I guess don't buy it, if that's a problem for you. I just wish that this industry were a little less murky with consumer rights and the way we're constantly being targeted with marketing schemes. When we're nickle and dime'd on a daily basis, it can be hard to parse out what's okay and what's not.
I would get the Platinum again, hell even if they share trophies id still play through it several times.....such a great game.
Eh. I liked The Last of Us but it's not really a game I think I'll ever desire to replay. Good for anyone who hasn't already played it, though.
Also the comments on that article are hilarious.
If they do one of those $10 next gen upgrades for owners of the PS3 version that some other cross gen games have done I'm all over it, but I can't see myself spending $60 on a game I've completed 4 times already.
Killer, I just beat Tomb Raider on PS3 and was debating getting the PS4 version just to support the team for making such a cool game, a debate which was quickly settled by the 50% off flash sale this week. I couldn't say no to $30, and while I only played until shortly after I got the torch before some friends showed up I was blown away by the graphics, I'll be curious to see how it looks tomorrow when I get out of that cave. Between Tomb Raider, MGS and inFamous I finally have some awesome showpieces for the system; I can't imagine The Last of Us won't look glorious on PS4.
That's kinda neat, but I don't think that I want to pay again for a game I already own. Especially when I'd rather be playing games built originally for PS4 on my PS4.
But good for people that missed it on PS3, I guess!
So does that mean Ellie will have a tan?
They'll actually get Ellen Page to play her this time.
give me lots of cool games to play at 60 frames per second without horrible visual blemishes and i will buy them. DO YOU HEAR ME. I WILL BUY THEM
Meh. Maybe one of these days the PS4 will get a game that isn't a re-release.
Second Son.
I may buy it just to do those starting levels again, but Last of Us was not a game I ever want to replay. And that's not necessarily a bad thing, it put me in a state of depression and anxiety while playing it, one that didn't affect me outside of game, but one I don't look forward to feeling anytime soon. For those who liked the multiplayer, this could be welcome news for a more fluid experience as the PS3 matches hitched up at times because of so much going on.
@talksin You bought a new console early in its life cycle. They aren't trying to impress as much as build a foundation. The impressive games, ideas, updates will come 2-3 years down the line for both the PS4 and Xbox One. If you're expecting something to be mouth-droppingly amazing, I'd sell the console to someone and wait. There are plenty of amazing things in life that $ 400 can buy and not have to wait for... And if the PS3 and 360 were anything to go off of, the new consoles will have a loooong life cycle.
I haven't played Left behind yet, because I really didn't want to get my Ps3 out of my closet and download it again off Psn, but this is just perfect. I will definitely buy it again without question. The entire time I played the game I noticed how far it was trying to go visually and how much the Ps3 was highlighting the cracks. I'm sure it'll look beautiful on the Ps4.

I've been putting off getting it and one of the reasons was that I hoped something like this would happen. I don't own a PS4 as of yet but I would totally get this on that eventually if it was good.
@hatking: its just like what you said; make the right decision for you. I will definitely pick this up when I get a PS4 because I didn't play it for the PS3.
I may be the wrong kind of consumer though, because I get real excited about stuff like the Halo Anniversary games.
I'm with you. I absolutely am a sucker for remakes of classic games. Hell, I bought the Fable Anniversary earlier this year, and I knew going in that it didn't get the treatment it deserved. But that doesn't change the fact that I kind of feel bad about it. Sure, I'm against pre-order bonuses, but if Best Buy is offering a significant piece of exclusive content, I'm not going to miss out on something to validate my point. Aside from that, nobody is going to notice. I think micro-transactions are kind of icky, but sometimes I want to wear that sick red armor instead of the generic stuff in the game. It's weird, I feel like a hypocrite for contributing to the problem, unwilling to make the sacrifice of missing content for what I believe. Oh well.
Maybe the Terribly long loading screen when you launch the game each time will be shortened.
Hope so.
... i'd probably buy it, even at $60 (which I cannot imagine it being any lower, because Companies know people would pay it)
Hope they have a 10 dollar cross buy option.
Bought TLOU not long ago but stopped because I hit a real lame glitch.

I'd rather have the one load than have to load every environment when you switch.

That'll do you a whole lot of good by itself...
I would gladly throw more money at Naughty Dog for what should surely be a 60fps The Last of Us, maybe even for full price... Maybe. Only for you, my sweet naughty dawgs.
While 60FPS would be great, I wouldn't mind a locked 30 if they can make the game look even better. I mean this isn't a twitch shooter so 60 FPS would be a luxury not a necessity. If they can make it run native 1080P with better anti-aliasing and some upgraded textures, I would be stoked. I mean the PS3 version still looks better then most launch PS4 games, so having some slight adjustments on the PS4 version would make it look beyond amazing.
@ripelivejam: A video card can't play games
I think playing Last of Us on PS4 would be great and something I would like to do, but like others I don't think I want to actually replay the whole game, just certain sections.
Anyone else think this announcement is kind of odd, especially considering that this was supposed to be one of the flagship titles coming out for PlayStation Now?
Regardless, never played TLoU, so if this is true I'd love to play it on my PS4.
