The follow-up to Ocarina of Time sees the series stalwart Link embark on a journey to save the land of Termina from being crushed by the moon in three days. To defeat the Skull Kid, Link has to live the same three days over and over again.
In reality, Link to the Past is as 3-dimensional as Ocarina of Time. The only difference is the camera is fixed and overhead, but you can move forward, back, left, and right on the map, as well as up and down ladders and stairs.
And Zelda II is hard as hell, but worth it to see a unique take on the Zelda format (the dungeons and combat-sequences are side-scrolling).
I personally think these are the two best Zelda games, since Ocarina of Time was pretty much the same thing as Link to the Past, except polygonal, and Windwaker didn't have enough dungeons (but was otherwise awesome.)
