The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D is coming June 19 in the US, Nintendo said this morning, making good on its promise that the updated game would hit the Nintendo 3DS at some point this summer. But, I think it’s of note that the game is missing the publisher’s absurdly elongated “launch window” that closes on June 7 with the start of E3 2011.

Ocarina of Time 3D will be the fifth or so major re-release of the original N64 title, but it is, to be fair, a pretty complete package. Ocarina of Time 3D features updated graphics, re-arranged dungeon content via the Master Quest portion of the game, and new controls that make the title, according to Nintendo designer Eiji Aonuma, easier to manage.

In other Nintendo release date news, the publisher has announced that Wii Play sequel, Wii Play: Motion, is hitting on June 13 for the Wii with a total of 12 “new” motion games. Also, a front-runner for the second quarter to Nintendo, at least, is seek-and-find Wii game Mystery Case Files: Dust to Dust, which hits on June 27 according to today’s press release.

== TEASER ==Here’s the rest of Nintendo’s second quarter line-up. I can’t wait to sink my teeth into these Reader Rabbit games. Take note of the fact that Duke Nukem: Critical Mass is still slated to come out despite all signs pointing to "No, this isn't coming out." Also, Nintendo isn't releasing any other 3DS titles in the second quarter. The Ocarina remake is the lone Nintendo-produced game.

Wow, look at that Wii lineup.

It's almost like developers were busy working on games for a new Nintendo console...

It kind of feels like Nintendo doesn't make that many games anymore, let alone good ones.

Splinter Cell 3D, as well as OoT, are definitely system sellers....at least the rest of the 3DS lineup is not all movie tie-ins and shovelware.

Remember when Nintendo gave a deuce about their launch titles? Me neither :(

Well there's Zelda for my 3DS....Sigh...I might check out Cave Story even though I played through the PC version. It does seem like a fitting game for a hand held.

I can't wait until there are more games for my new toy. I actually had to send it in because of an overly wobbly top screen, so I don't feel like I'm missing out on too much right now.

You totally called it.  With a first- and third-party drought this bad, we must be just a few months away from Nintendo unveiling their next home console, and actually shipping won't come long after that.

N64 - original game, groundbreaking at the time.

GCN - "collectors disc," ahh nostalgia.

Wii - virtual console, well there's not much else to do on this system.

3DS - straight up port, spent $250 on this system, and there's nothing else to play. I'm a diehard Nintendo fan, please take my $40 to play a game I have multiple versions of that I don't touch.

So for good game the wii maybe has the conduit 2? The 3DS has OoT, Cave Story 3D, DOA D, Blazblue II portable, and splinter cell 3D. Aside from the fact that DOA is the only game here that's not a remake or port there's not much going for the system at the moment.

The Wii releases are disappointing, the DS releases are understandable and the 3DS releases are just plain "alright" for a console this new.

Nintendo needs to suit the fuck up.
New 3DS system and there's jack to play, a lone Zelda, no matter how good, is not gonna fix that.
Where's Smash Bros? Earthbound? Mario Kart? Anything?

I'm slowly losing my faith in Nintendo, and since I don't look forward to scrubbing the Zelda tattoo of my shoulder I really hope they gear up soon.

I don't know about everyone here but looking at this list of Wii games the console seems to be
    sighing its last breaths.

I wouldn't be surprised if we see a new Nintendo console announced this year at E3 and I sure as hell hope that they don't come up with all that Wii HD crap.

My first reaction to the Zelda date was "Well, guess I know when I'm getting a 3DS."  Then, three seconds later, I realized how ridiculous that sounds. Why do I want to pay $300 to play a 13 year-old game I've played through numerous times. Oh, but it's enhanced and has the master quest! Yeah...I played that on GameCube.

Still waiting for a real reason to buy this thing.

Meh list except Zelda, but it is not really surprising since E3 is soon.

Wow there really still isn't anything exciting coming out yet. I mean of the games listed I'm most interested in pac-man & galaga dimensions. PAC-MAN AND GALAGA. Truly Nintendo is pushing handheld gaming into the next generation.

As far as I know it's coming out on the 19th. Brad saying it's on the 12th could be a typo for the UK release, which is the 22nd.

Wow... there's one game that I want to play on 3DS with a release date, and it's a fucking re-release of an N64 game. Well the e-shop should be up by then, so maybe it won't be a total bust. However, asking full cart price for many of these games is a straight up ripoff. I'm not paying 4x for a 3D version of Cave Story.

And worse, they're not even real Pac-man or Galaga games, except for the rehashes they added on to make the package seem worth more than $10. Check the screenshots in the game's page.

    @TaliciaDragonsong:
It is not like this is any different from previous years you know,
or did you honestly think Mario Kart would go from beta footage to this release date list without saying howdy at E3.

For better or worse, Nintendo is kinda infamous for releasing their game 2-3 months after announcement.

I really think that nintendo is just holding back all of their mario games and other big franchises till the 3DS sales slow down a bit.  Guh I'm not buying one till something good comes out.

Nintendo's 1st party support for their new piece of hardware is terrible.

Also Nintendo's 1st party support this year has been awful.
The official word was "we wanted our 3rd parties to shine" more like "we can sell a shit load regardless of quality software".
Nintendo always had one of there big guys with them at launch instead there first big title will be a remake of a 15 year old game, for me thats great as i shamefully admit to never playing it as it was in the years when i was about 15-16 and gaming went out the window for other things but what of the hardcore nintendo fan im sure they have recently played OOT again when it hit virtual console and looking at the titles there's nothing with a solid release date for those fans thats completely new.
And I have a feeling Wii play 2 will not sell anything like the first game as im sure the mass install base has 2nd controllers and lets be honest the only reason will play sold gangbusters was because people wanted a 2nd remote and got a few free mini games with it, im sure nintendo are hoping there consumers are wanting to upgrade to a wii motion+ but i dont think there are enough titles out there that use plus that the casuals are going to run out and buy it.

Wait, April 10th for Splinter Cell 3D?

    That's out now?

I am highly interested in that game. I need to know if it is good. Where is my quick look Giant Bomb?
