Overview
The Mushroom Kingdom is the world where Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach and the rest of the Mario series characters live. According to Super Mario RPG, it is a monarchy ruled by the Chancelor, and Princess Peach is known to be the heiress to the throne. The population is made up of mostly Toads, who use coins as their currency.
Lands of the Mushroom Kingdom
Bowser's Castle as seen in New Super Mario Bros. Wii.In Super Mario Bros. 3, the Mushroom Kingdom is shown to be composed of eight different lands, seven of which are ruled by mushroom kings. The eighth kingdom is ruled by Bowser and inhabited by his koopa troopa minions. Bowser also has a castle in which he captured Peach.
Underground Network
A key recurring feature of the Mushroom Kingdom's landscape is the presence of green pipes. These pipes, typically standing in a vertical position, lead to a subterranean network of caves of varied complexity. While some of these caves are simple treasure caches, most contain passages littered with traps. It is often unclear exactly how long the pipes are and as such, how deep the caves go.
Mario Kart is also known as the kingdom's most popular racing tournament.Racing Tournament
This kingdom is also home to the Mario Kart racing tournament . This series features a variety of tracks, such as Rainbow Road, Bowser's Castle, Wario Stadium, DK Summit, Mario Circuit and many more.
Party Central
The Mushroom Kingdom is also party central in the Mario Party series . The participants play a variety of minigames throughout the series on boards all across the kingdom.
Sports
A Basketball match at Mario Stadium in Mario Sports Mix.In addition to racing tournaments, the kingdom has plenty of other sporting events such as baseball ( Mario Baseball), tennis ( Mario Tennis ), golf ( Mario Golf ), and basketball (Mario Hoops 3-on-3).
