I think it's brilliant.
The Orange Box
Game » consists of 13 releases. Released Oct 09, 2007
The Orange Box is a video game compilation that packages Half-Life 2 (including Episode 1 and Episode 2), Team Fortress 2, and Portal into one.
Who thinks Team Fortress 2 is good?
"I wish people were still playing it on xbl."This. The X360 Version is actually great fun - But if you receive a "no players" messege 85% of the time you want to play a ranked match, and have only two games to choose from in a social match, that's just not cool. I would like to play it more often - But XBL players won't let me.
"I think it's brilliant."PC version is a masterpiece. 360 version? not so much
I probably have a hundred hours sunk into the PC version
I love it (art direction, character animation, etc.), and wish I could play more of it.
Unfortunatly, I bought the PS3 version of the Orange Box, so the only thing I've really played on it is Portal - well worth the 60$ - but it would be the PC version that I could really get down on for TF2.
Eh....if you want the best version of any shooter, ya gotta go with PC. That aside, TF2 is the shit. Just got my backburner.
"A more appropriate question: Who DOESNT think Team Fortress 2 is good?"Me. The fanbase killed all the fun.
I think anyone that was deep into Mega TF for Quake back in the day would agree TF2 doesn't nearly cut it.
TF2 has supremely annihilated the greatness that was original TF.
Gameplay above all, TF and Mega TF just destroys TF2.
The amount of extras in Mega TF ALONE are enough to make you wanna slap the hell out of Robin Walker for allowing Valve to destroy the Team Fortress name.
Image and atmosphere, well, I don't know about the rest of you, but that cartoon shit doesn't work for me.
These happy-go-lucky colors and characters are a disgrace. What happened to the demonized look on the face of every original TF class?
I understand the concept of introducing a new element into an older game, but come on.
If Robin Walker has any integrity at all, he's screaming in his sleep and waking up from nightmares from the atrocity that is called TF2.
Oh.... and guess what? TF/Mega TF was free. You bought Quake, and then you downloaded TF and the Mega TF expansion for free.
The amount of custom artwork, models, maps, and anything else you could think of was staggering. And I really do mean staggering.
Fail.
I have it on the 360 and fucking love it.
I dont even want to thin about how addicted id become if i could get it on PC.
"The game is a lot of fun, will only get better when the update comes out for the Xbox 360 version."Key word there is when.
I need to revisit it. I didn't care for it on my first play, but it was also my first online experience (apart from Guitar Hero).
" VaHughes said:Search a couple more times. I've never had trouble finding a diverse selection."I wish people were still playing it on xbl."This. It's good. Can get old if you play it too much, but the characters and updates are always exciting. My only problem with it is all the desert maps are just plain boring :/
Not enough people play this game on XBL and that pisses me off because I don't have a good enough PC to really sink time into the PC TF2 version, but can afford the XBOX360 version and etc. I find the multiplayer better for this game than almost any other game I play, except for some remaining Lag issues that don't show up elsewhere.
