Overview

The Quarry is a cinematic horror adventure game developed by Supermassive Games (Company) and published by 2K Games (Company) for the PlayStation 5 (Platform), Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4 (Platform), Xbox One (Platform), and PC (Platform) on June 10, 2022.

A spiritual successor to the studio's 2015 game Until Dawn, as well as their The Dark Pictures Anthology series, The Quarry follows seven teenage counselors of Hackett's Quarry Summer Camp as they become trapped in the empty campsite, only to be hunted by monstrous beasts and blood-drenched locals.

Similar to Until Dawn and The Dark Pictures Anthology, the the game focuses on third-person exploration, timed dialogue choices, and quick time events. It features the absence of a losing condition, as the story proceeds to one of multiple endings regardless of which characters live or die. It also features local and online multiplayer modes, numerous difficulty and accessibility options, and a special "Movie Mode" that removes all interactivity and shows the game as one long film (with players setting the personality traits of each character beforehand, allowing for rewatchability).
