The Third Colossus is the third enemy fought by Wander in Shadow of the Colossus. Like the game's other Colossi, it is a large golem that appears to be at least partially constructed from stone. This Colossus resembles a knight armed with a sword in place of its right hand. It can be found resting atop a disc-shaped platform situated over a lake to the northwest of the Shrine of Worship. The Third Colossus is the second of the game's five humanoid Colossi, as well as one of only three Colossi that wield a weapon against Wander. Because of its elevated location, Agro cannot participate in this battle.
The battle against the Third Colossus introduces players to the concept of utilizing the environment in order to damage the Colossus. Specifically, Wander must lead the enemy into striking a small stone disc in the arena with its giant sword, causing a chunk of the Colossus' armor to detach from the force of the impact and creating a new climbing path in the process.
