Presenting an original story in the same franchise as the comic book series of the same name, The Walking Dead is a five-part adventure game from Telltale that follows the story of a convicted murderer, his guardianship over a young girl, and his co-operation with a roaming group of survivors in a zombie apocalypse.
For those that have the game, what was your previous experience with The Walking Dead?
I watched the first season of the TV show and did not really like it but I am loving this so far, Just finished the first episode

The TV series so far. My biance read the first volume and is planning on buying the Compendium soon.
The Compendium is a fantastic buy. Best way to get into the comics so far.
Watched tv shiw and read the comics and loved them, i think theyre both great. The game is alot like the comic, it feels like the comic and has a comic art style. Story is great and feels like reading the comic only im making the decisions for the group.
I watched the first half hour of the TV show and hated it completely. I hated the characters they showed, found the dialogue to be completely boring, and Oh No Zombies does shit all for me in 2012. I did like the set design in the ruined hospital. As soon as he got to the house and it became clear this would be about bunkering and stupid arguments I was done.
Played 45 minutes of the game, really like it.
i only read book 2 of the comic. (the one that takes place on the farm) and i watched most of season 1 but never finished it.
I own the big The Walking Dead: Compendium One book. I liked what I read, but only got about 1/5th of the way through before getting distracted and forgetting about it.
I've seen the first season of the TV show. I liked the first couple of episodes, but I didn't really like where it went or the way the characters were handled. I got the same vibe from it that I get from a lot of Stephen King adaptations. There's a group of people, each usually satisfying different a different archetype, and they are each overly dramatic in their own way. Most of the characters are never complex enough and they don't feel real. The decisions they make are usually more about a message than replicating actual human behavior or thought patterns. That style has never clicked with me. Stephen King's stuff usually works on the page much better than it does on the screen and that may be the case here as well. Maybe that's because they often try too hard to faithfully adapt his words to a different medium. The series hasn't swayed me from wanting to finish my book. I haven't watched season 2.
Despite all of that I don't feel like it was hard to appreciate the first episode of the game. I'm sure I'd get more out of it if I finished the book before episode two, so I think that I'll try. I don't get the sense that it's a necessity though.
Just the TV series. Really enjoyed the first episode of season 1, but it kinda got boring afterwards. I loved season 2, though, even if the whole ''we gotta look for Sophia... Oh, well, nuttin' I guess, let's try again next episode'' totally dragged on for far too long. The final two episodes made for some great pay-offs too.
I have no experience with the series. Never read the comics or seen the show. My wife watches the show and likes it so I wasn't completely in the dark. After playing the first episode I'm extremely excited to play through the rest of it.
Through Book 5 of the comics and halfway through season 2 of the show. Glad to see the game is in the world of the comics and not the show. The show isn't bad, the comic is just way better.
I'm a big fan of the comics got around 90 of them but i've lagged behind recently. I enjoyed the first season of the tv show but In season 2 I dropped off before the mid season finale. The shows pacing is horrific, they should have spent a maximum of 4 episodes at Hershals farm and finished the mid season...
...when they find the prison. Then end the series on the reveal of the helicopter, the reveal of Woodsbury, or the capture of rick, glenn and michonne.
The first season i could bear them doing nothing because thats when your introduced to a large cast of characters, but season twos pacing is unforgivable.
I've never seen the show or read the comic (although I plan to now) the quick look really took me by surprise. Didn't really plan on getting it until then.
I watched the first episode of the show and liked it, but never got around to watching more. I really enjoyed the game though, and may end up picking up some of the books.
I watched the first season of the show and stopped watching because the last episode fuckin terrible. But I heard a lot of good things about the game and $20 for 5 episodes seemed like a good deal. Hope the others are just as good as episode 1 because it could easily be one of the best games of the year, but time will tell.
