Patch 1.2(available on 3.06.2011) changelog
http://www.en.thewitcher.com/patch1-2/ Hopefully everything will work as it should this time. What? You mean no 9 gig patch rape this time?
No... well, yeah, that too for Steam version owners. But I really meant that I hope it doesn't break anything this time(like 1.1 did with the DLC option in the launcher for example).
And as for the change list, I've never even encounter most of the stuff they've listed.
This is interesting: 17. Islamic–themed and similar textures have been deleted and/or replaced. ...what?
P.S. "Some traders also provide barbershop services." Fan service!
Glad to see they're fixing some of the problems I had.. importing saves not working, DLC bugs, auto-targeting being a huge pain.. I'll probably start my second play-through once this goes up and try siding with Roche.
So what exactly does this mean? Swings hit multiple dudes?
game gets slightly easier?11. A number of fixes have been made in blocking functionality during combat. Also, player character responsiveness in combat has been improved, and Geralt can attack more than one target during normal combat. So what exactly does this mean? Swings hit multiple dudes?
Wow it looks like they are fixing a ton of stuff. Nice to see you can delete saves in menu rather than go to the folder. Although you'll miss out on the hilarity that is your save folder holding 1.5 gigs of whatever the fuck it is.
Looks like they are also making the prologue a little less of a bitch. Of course now when I get stuck and after multiple tries, I turn it down to easy, hack my way through that particular tricky part and move on. It's mostly annoying boss fights when you are stuck in a tiny area. Every other fight I just leave on normal since the tough combat is really satisfying when you get through a tricky fight.
@weeman105 said:I've been thinking about this one. Up until now you had to unlock an ability to deal damage to multiple enemies. Maybe now you'll have that ability from the start(Logical. Swords ARE quite long) and the skill tree will let you increase the damage dealt to enemies within your range?game gets slightly easier?11. Even though I selected it for import?
It seems to work for some people, but no matter what I did, I couldn't get it to read my save. Borrowed one from a friend though (who luckily made all the same choices that I did) and that seemed to work fine.
If you did import the save file, you should have started with a couple of bonuses items.. the jacket from the end of the first and the silver sword from the lady of the lake.
Yes! Now I can finally play the game. The game now supports Logitech G35 headphones and other USB headsets with on-board sound cards.
Oh yeah, I had those items.@TheChaos: Depends, you should have had an option when starting a new game to import a save file from the first game, or else it will say "Witcher 1 data not available". I need to stop posting and go to bed.
If your launcher fails to download the patch(apparently happens to some people), then here's the direct link: http://wpc.420c.edgecastcdn.net/00420C/files/Patch2/Patcher_1.2.exe
Blocking does not deplete your vigor anymore. I repeat! Blocking DOES NOT deplete your vigor!
Is it good? I don't know, no opinion. I barely used blocking on my first playthrough. Sometimes, against humans.
EDIT: ...or not. Some people say it still does. Weird, I've started a new game just to see the balancing stuff and I could've sworn that blocking did't affect my vigor bar.
- Game saves are now compressed automatically, lowering the amount of disk space they utilize.
- An option has been added to the game menu allowing game saves to be deleted. To delete a game save, highlight the relevant item and press the ‘Delete’ key.
- The game menu now loads at a markedly accelerated pace.
- A number of fixes have been added to the key binding functionality (actions can now be mapped to number pad and cursor/arrow keys).
- Analog sticks on gamepads now work correctly in the GUI panels.
- A number of game balance fixes have been introduced in the Prologue.
- Lock on targets is not lost when the distance to targets increases.
- A number of fixes have been made in blocking functionality during combat. Also, player character responsiveness in combat has been improved, and Geralt can attack more than one target during normal combat.
- The Witcher 1 saves are now imported correctly.
- Guards can no longer block Geralt when he is on a ladder.
- Knives no longer affect friendly NPCs.

Major lolz at this
Islamic–themedand similar textures have been deleted and/or replaced.
I shall now purchase this game. Well done CD Projekt. I like you now, but this game needs more islamic themed textures.
I can confirm. I don't know about the talent though. I only played first few minutes of the prologue. I'm guessing that it will increase the damage dealt to additional opponents. Can someone confirm that Geralt now always hits multiple opponents when striking, as a standard? In that case, what happened to the talent?
Also, it seems that the vigor bars regenerate faster if you use them for blocking. When you use a sign the regen rate is much slower.
Changelog doesn't say anything about fixing the bugged Trollslayer achievement if you sided with Roche :(
Dunno. I just imagine it was a texture that had some islamic themed art or writing on it. Nothing as big as little big planet a few years back. That was lolz, and I really couldn't care less.@Cirdain said:

So..... Steam just started a 9 gig download for The Witcher 2. I chose Steam specifically for hassle-free automatic patching, at least I got the automatic part. :/
